plates as sculpture, as texture, as an element of color, light and shape are catching my eye and i'm having fun watching! either placed in an abstract way, in orderly rows at attention, or clumped or loose, they are fabulous! get those beautiful plates out of your cupboard...you know the ones you never even look at except on special occasions? get them out there or should i say up there! in our house, the one fun thing i've been doing is collecting mismatched pieces whether it be china cups, saucers, dinner plates etc. from my travels here and there so that my kitchen shelves are eclectic, varied and fun. as is the dinner table when it's set. i literally pick my china tea cup which i drink my coffee out of (i swear it tastes better than a mug) by mood. seriously. so i can definitely see picking plates to display by mood.

perhaps by season, easily changed out to suit weather, of if you are changing the paint color of your walls or your wallpaper. easy instant wall decor. plates offer a comfortable feel, remembering home cooked meals and family time. has anyone decorated with plates like this? i'd love to know how your wall came out and how you did it differently to suit your personal space. enjoy!
