these bedrooms, just because

do you ever begin to focus on particular rooms, as you are surfing sites, considering product, color palettes, space or area? lately i'm stuck on bedrooms. no matter where my internet fingers take me, there is beauty everywhere...
(links)
these are a few recent sources of inspiration and breathtaking-ness (my word). & whether it be because of the calm infused by white, by softly painted artworks, by the addition of greens (large & small), bedding, there is so much here that just totally completes each space, in a perfect way. enjoy!

interior inspiration.

los angeles based designer sophie buhai's interiors are inspiring to me today...
the clean, bright light, the white, the overall natural color palette, with pops of color in perfectly placed artwork or in hints of crisp greens...soothing & stunning all at the same time. enjoy!

petite passport.

do you guys visit this site? petite passport?
pauline egge takes you around the world, to all of the nooks and crannies, the hot spots as she calls them (the kind NOT in the tour guidebooks), the special places. coffee shops in amsterdam, to a grand hotel tucked in paris, to 24 hours in the hague, she takes you places, if only virtually!.

from the food she is eating (which she claims is a bonus to a stunning interior) to the kind of light bulbs a spectacular place is using, petite passport offers TONS of interior eye candy and first hand know how. in case you are planning to travel or just plain interested...enjoy!

busy spaces, to love.

i would not normally surround myself or place myself in busy spaces or places, like these. but there is some kind of really good busy going on here...

enjoy!

the mayor sofa.

one mayor sofa, 4 different ways...
these make me smile this morning, this same sofa in very different (super pretty) colors. it's the "mayor sofa" offered up by & tradition.

martin kornbek hansen is the founder of the danish company, & tradition and his goal/statement is to "connect with old masters while giving space to new designers." to remember those that were avant garde in their time, and to pay attention to those "creating the ground-breaking icons of today." smart. and these are smart sofas in smart colors. just saying...

furniture is a concept.

the swedish company kallemo has an ambition: to remind you (us) that furniture is a concept and that quality stands for accomplishment unaffected by trends...
and that shines through in their design, because as kallemo reminds us, "good quality means long-term validity." that's for sure.

new designs, while they may be cutting edge, modern or avant garde for thier time, can remain timeless or classic. for the pieces we see today, the designs we now have come to realize as having maintained a status of classic or timeless throughout the years, were once new, they were once pushing the boundaries. but if the quality is there, in the design & in the materials used, then that long-term validity has begun. i love that!

happy monday friends, a brand new start to a fresh week. i hope that your weekend was amazing! enjoy...

about a chair.

can a sunday be all about a chair? yes, yes it can...
and it has a name...the "rosa poltrona" chair, inspired by a particular position a rose can be, and it's offered up by studio kmj.

and it has acoustic absorbing foam and fabric. so when you want to curl up into the fetal position and turn the world off, and your music up, this is the chair. and this is the chair this sunday. enjoy!

lowness.

this afternoon, i really like all of the lowness going on in this space. from the low eclectic nightstands to the height of the bed, to the drippy, draped bed skirt, flowing softly onto the hard floor. it's just pure bedroom goodness that's all.

how are you this afternoon? hanging in there? good! me too ;) enjoy...

knoll. in orange.

this afternoon, i'm enjoying the pierre beuclur & jean christophe poggioli designed lounge collection, and offered up by knoll.

i'm not sure if it's that orange, or those metal legs in either a chrome or copper finish, or the black metal structure on which it all sits. or maybe it's because all that i hear when i stare at them is "psssst. you look like you could use a break. come on and lounge with me." that's probably it. to be honest.

i hope this afternoon finds your feeling energized and fairly euphoric. :) if not. find a cool place to lounge. you deserve it. enjoy!

a sunday space.

this space, this sunday, projects my mood. quiet, contemplative, thoughtful, reflective and imagining...lots of ideas, lots of things, lots of feelings. i don't usually post much about my personal life, my personal feelings. i hope you don't mind.
but, i've been doing alot of that lately. thinking. remembering. i've felt super sensitive to change, to loss,(more about that here), to living without certain people, to finding love and worst of all, losing love. all of those things hurt so much. but i'm getting to a point where i'm ready to breathe, ready to just be. without regret. without sadness. i'm ready to be happy. it's funny how you all of the sudden you get to that point. it's taken a while, but i'm almost there...enjoy the rest of your sunday friends!
