hanging onto summer, and its furniture.

if you are clinging to summer (like me!) and are still in need (or just want) a set of fresh, pure summer, outdoor furniture, check out the italian company unopiu , they caught my eye today...
unopiu's tag line reads "we create dreams, dreams for your leisure time." i love that! a simply elegant, fresh set of summer seating can transform your outdoor enjoyment, but also the space. it truly can.

i have a pretty routine run route these days. and one particular home i run by recently upgraded their front porch seating, and i mean seriously went for the gold on this one. it is also a very LARGE home, stunning really with views of the marsh and the open ocean. so that should be enough right? even with so-so outdoor seating? and you are right, it probably is. but just that one move that they recently made, that investment into really gorgeous outdoor seating, in my mind, it darn right sealed the deal. enjoy!

lines of a bloom.

just as we are inspired by indoor furniture, outdoor furniture should move us in the same way. don't you think?
and just as we attempt to find special, captivating pieces for our homes, our outdoor spaces can be just as interesting and styled well. i'm lately loving this "calyx" line offered up by kenneth cobonpue. and kenneth is interesting too.

in 2007 TIME magazine called kenneth "rattans first virtuoso." he graduated in industrial design from the pratt institute in new york. he designs for celebrities and royalty. so why not us, right? ha! seriously though, kenneth reveals new work each year in paris and new york. this particular line, much like the lines of an outdoor bloom are stunning. he designs and manufactures from cebu, an island province in the philappines and according to his site, "integrates locally sourced materials with innovative handmade production processes." you can see it. this is furniture that you can feel before you even sit in it. i love that. enjoy!

transitioning into fall, with planters.

planters are like pillows to me, i could shop for them all day long...
just when i believe i've settled on a particular style or material, i notice another one, then another that i love just the same or more. i could literally keep moving my plants, flower or grasses from one to the other, depending on the season...

these stone and spaghetti style planters offered up by vondom are my pick for fall...or at least that transition from summer to fall. their character, reminiscent of smooth stones washed and softened by the tide. as if they still hold some of the warm summer heat. what about you? do you love shopping for planters like me? i'd love to hear...enjoy!

flora. boxed and elevated.

as far as planters go this summer, these 2 new styles offered up by flora have my attention...
the top style planter is flora's "elevated" line. designer arik levy conceptualized the idea of the individual being entrenched in a green oasis, being more face to face with plants, elevating them to a more prominent and present place and space.

the "box" line of planters is just plain having fun with planter design. designer michael koenig added casters to the bottom of his box planter, so that you can easily mobilize these guys, perfect for residential or commercial spaces. and what's better than beautiful flora appearing to pop out as a truly green surprise for spring and summer? not much i tell ya. enjoy!

monday & richard lampert outdoors

i wanted to share with you this monday, this fresh start to a brand new week, a very summer~y, very fresh line of outdoor furniture offered up by richard lampert. easy, breazy comfortable. i'm drawn to the simple sensibility of lampert's summer~y product line, the natural nature of it.

and that tall chair, similar to a life guard stand? imagine that on a beautiful property, with any kind of fabulous view, whether it be the beach, or the mountains or a lake? you'd be alone up there and lost in outdoor thought. i love that!

my thoughts are running toward the outdoors lately. we've had bursts of spring (almost early summer bursts in boston) and that's turning my attention to outdoor options, color palettes, materials and style. it feels good to direct attention to outdoor thoughts. winter is nearing and end and right about now, i'm ready to hit one of those lampert lounge chairs, or that tall look~out chair and take in the air, take in the view. aaah, i can feel it now ;)

i hope your weekend was amazing, relaxing, productive or just about how you wanted it to be. i was relaxed, lost in thought, sipping red wine, reading and running. it was all good. enjoy!

roda. beautifully inside & out

to make your monday morning even tougher, i'm going to make you really want to get away! this amazing line of outdoor furniture choices, offered up by roda will tempt you beyond words. roda states in their profile that they create designs that do away "with the transient boundary between indoors and out."

what i really like alot about roda the company and roda's designs and philosophy is that they've truly calculated just what buyers love about the indoors, what they love about their indoor furniture, and they've interpreted that toward the outdoors, to make the easy and comfortable transition.

outdoor furniture doesn't have to look like a sacrifice from your indoor line. it really can/should be just as creatively designed, just as amazing and obviously just as comfortable and practical. roda has certainly forced us to view outdoor furniture and the capabilities for transforming your outdoor spaces, in a very different yet welcomed way.

happy monday friends! we are sans the superbowl in new england but hey, it was one heck of a game ;) i hope your monday is starting off energetic and productive. i'm cleaning up after our party, eating very light today after not light yesterday and catching up on tons of course work. enjoy!!

expormim. indoor & outdoor life

hey! happy saturday/weekend friends. if you don't live in a warm part of the world/country, are you dreaming of warmer days right about now? no? well then, i'll do it for you today! i can't help it. it's snowing here this morning. and at the same time i stumbled upon expormim, a sexy, modern outdoor furniture company. the outdoor furniture won my imagination over this morning. now...we're do i want pretend to be? ;)

i am drawn to expormim's style and design first, but almost at the same time, i'm eager to unwind & relax in their woven textured pieces and soothing color palettes. expormim describes their approach to design as "a benchmark of emerging trends." i love that! expormim's pieces welcome the sunlight. it streams right through each and every piece. just beautiful.

how is your saturday starting out? what do you have planned for today? i'd love to hear! we just inhaled chocolate croissants from one of our favorite bakeries. the bakery is actually french and so yes, the croissants are beyond delish. a real weekend treat. i hope your saturday morning is starting out just as sweet. enjoy!
