in the round.

sometimes it's just so simple, the circle shape i mean...
and sometimes there is certain product that exemplifies a particular shape so perfectly. this line of iceglobe lighting offered up by lumen center italia does that. and though i'm not a fan of installing a same kind of light throughout a space, residential or commercial, there is something so easy and still captivating about this light, this design, that it would tempt you to just do it. enjoy!

monday & scotch club lights.

happy monday friends! in the world of lights, i'm typically drawn to pendant lights. to me, there is just something so beautiful about a hanging light. it always appears to present itself differently in different environments. but these "scotch club" ceramic wall and ceiling lights offered up by marset are taking their cue from the 70's, and disco balls, and have me rethinking boring old ceiling lights...
they're exernal ceramic shell is fired 4 times for a particular finish, they exude their warm light past 72 internal gold or white faces. they're available in white, blue, terracotta or black ceramic. it would be hard to choose exterior or interior color here, they are all drop dead gorgeous. rethink your wall or ceiling lights people! enjoy...

pura lights.

i like these alot today. and i can't tell if they remind me of winter or summer...
it's a line of ceramic pendants offered up by the german company steng licht. and each has imperfections, which is perfect. they're unglazed and so natural irregularities which become part of the design.

steng licht's company profile evokes a real sense of "made in germany" but does note that it collaborates with designers from around the world. hey, it's that kind of world today. and that's a good thing! enjoy...

imagining a gold hallway. mid~day fancy.

for a mid~day break, i'm sitting here, completely imagining what it would be like to have a hallway like this, swathed in gold, brass, light, shimmer. don't you think that a hallway like this in your home would just about make your day? oooh, i do.
(via)
and on that note, i'm heading outside, to read, to soak in some vitamin d. what about you? how is your day coming along? i'd love to hear! i'd also love to hear whether or not you'd attempt a hallway such as this? it would be seriously tempting for me, i have to tell ya! enjoy...
