folk patterns.

this afternoon, i'm really drawn to these folk patterns, these rugs offered up by the french company chevalier...
something special happens when you place particular shapes against other shapes, particular colors against other colors. the overall design can get simplified, more complex, more interesting one way or the other. you could literally play with shape and color combinations all day and keep coming up with differing results, moods, design. even with rugs. i love that! enjoy...

madeline weinrib & denim carpets.

new york artist and designer madeline weinrib has caught my attention today with her handwoven, denim carpets. yeah...that's right, denim.
with names like "blue note" and "ocean" and patterns like farms from the view of an airplane, madeline's denim carpets are evocative of landscapes, of abstract oceans, of places and spaces you admire, or desire to be. i love that...enjoy!

wild tiles.

these wild new floral tiles offered up by bisazza caught my attention this afternoon...
the designer is marcel wanders. and if you have a little bit extra in your home or commercial renovations budget for a very specially tiled wall, bisazza might be your go to splurge. i've posted about bisazza in the past. what i really enjoy about companies like these is their daring to go bold, to test the boundaries of something like wall treatments or floor treatments. to wow you. after all, being wowed is a good thing right? enjoy...

graphic language.

this ceramic flooring by refin and designtalestudio transforms traditional, interpreting surfaces in new ways, graphically, powerfully.
designtalestudio notes that "the reinterpretation of colour and the emphatic use of changed scales creates a dynamic and thrilling effect." well i don't know about you but injecting this type of flooring, these types of graphic designs would certainly offer your spaces, residential or commercial some thrilling effects. enjoy!

now. for fall.

for fall, i'm drawn to some of the rugs & the color palettes and natural patterns offered up by now. from rich tones, to subtle references to rain, to ocean waves, to stones & clouds. and after all, how can you go wrong bringing a little bit of nature, indoors?
i'm a wood floor person, so incorporating rugs here are there for warmth, for texture, for added interest is perfect. check out more of what now has in store for this upcoming (no, wait, we're in it already!) fall season, here.

how are you this tuesday morning? as a reluctant giver-uper of summer, i've been fighting the coming of fall, but the weather has been so completely gorgeous that i'm letting summer go, i'm running outside more, i'm sleeping better with the cool crisp air. i love fall. there i said it. ok, now i'm good. bring on the tights and boots ;) enjoy...

chevalier edition rugs. very french, very fabulous.

happy monday friends! i wanted to share a fabulous new find, these "i can't even stand it these are so pretty" rugs offered up by the french company, chevalier edition.

i really like (no, love) what these rugs offer any space, residential or commercial. by their scale, color & design. these chevalier edition rugs are edgy, provocative, and are just that piece you are looking for to throw your space off, to interrupt it in an oh~so~good way. i've rounded up a few of my current fav's, have a look...

most of you know by now that i'm not a giant fan of wall to wall carpet. (ok, that's an understatement, sorry but it's true). but, what i am a huge fan of is rugs like these.

i love rugs on wood floors. why? because they are interchangeable, very non~permanent. you can move them, from one room to the next, you can change them out, enter in new rugs, new patterns, color palettes or textural elements to your spaces, at your heart's content. i love that!

how was your weekend? i hope it was just how you wanted it to be. my monday is starting off in the rain, but is supposed to end in the sun. i'm going to get in a run, ALOT of typing for papers. in between that, i might just ride my bike to the beach and see what treasures the storm kicked up last night ;) enjoy!

marrakesh. crazy for this tile.

this almost friday, i wanted to talk about quick and instant face lifts. not the face kind, but the interior design kind. just like paint can do, provide that instant face lift for any space, residential or commercial, giving it a burst of pizazz, a new feel, a new mood, so too can adding in or changing out flooring. and with these fresh, super interesting tile ideas offered up by marrakesh, how could you even hesitate...

aren't these new styles by marrakesh out of this world gorgeous for spring and summer style? ah, yeah. inspired by classical arabic geometry, this flooring option is stunning. marrakesh has collaborated on this line with claesson koivisto rune (another fab find) to bring a hard to describe in words, set of designs.

hey, hey! how are you today? i'm still working on getting my energy level up. not sure why, but this week i'm dragging my body around a bit. i will definitely try for a run today to help the energy level get up there ;) i have another class tonight, then a weekend ahead where my son will be home from college. looking forward to that. i hope this almost friday morning finds you in a positive, inspired place. enjoy!
