texas native chad jacobs launched his lighting company bone simple design in 1993 and works out of his now long island new york studio constructing contemporary lighting fixtures by hand, literally transforming the power of light...

chad offers up an eclectic variety of design choices on his bone simple design site, but his "bespoke" line, featured above, is my absolute favorite. there is indeed a powerful quality to these designs, they are big and bold yet lovely and quiet all at the same time. they lend themselves as statement pieces in both residential or commercial spaces.

man oh man when you want a wow lighting option, this bespoke line by bone simple design should jump to mind. enjoy!

the design studio gamfratesi combines the serious talents of danish architect stine gam and italian architect enrico fratesi. each is cognitive of the storied backgrounds and history of their cultures, of architecture and design within their cultures. & according to gamfratesi's studio page, "understanding a tradition and addressing it actively in the workshop makes it possible to expand on it"...

founded in 2006, gamfratesi is based in cophenhagen, though stine & enrico travel often to both italy and denmark "for development and research of new products." stine & enrico claim that in designing, they "explore the diverse border zone between harmony and disharmony."

i'm not sure how to interpret that except that they push the boundaries, of expectation, of even perhaps, what's standard or appropriate or desired, offering you fresh chances, with each design, to dare to be different, to catch you off guard, to throw you a design curve ball. i love that! enjoy...
