have a super weekend!

hey, HEY! it's the weekend...
(via)
what are you up to? anything fun? i'm itchy for a short roadtrip, super itchy to plan a longer one! (keep gravitating toward this) might start a new sewing project, and in between that you'll find me moving slow and sipping coffee even slower. i hope that your weekend is everything that you want it to be.

and it's friday saturday, so some fun finds from around the world wide web:

this can be so stunning, fruit as the new floral.

absolutely LOVING this deco bed.

on a beauty note, have you ever tried tooth powder? this makes me want to try.

fun for summer entertaining, ceramic ice cream cones instead of bowls.

in the mood for a little pattern, i like this.

striving for more of this color palette vibe in my life in general.

so this for a summer drink? yes please!

how about boozy summer flavor-ice?! and so pretty!

like love everything about this bedroom.

some pretty wood things.

how about this line for office furniture?

been savoring her summer on instagram.

how cute for kids!?

i don't usually wear stripes, but just bought this (on sale!)...love the fade.

fun steel plate house numbers
.

this double sconce.

seeing triple here.

veeeeeery cool in the right space/place.

super drawn to his works on paper.

a formal office, sort of.

if is were asked to design the interior of a rather formal office, an office setting where you just can't go too off target with furnishings, i would definitely look at some of what t gebruder offers up. there is just a touch of informal, a touch of edge exuding from each piece. and i love that...
when writing about their pieces, sites such as architonic nail it when they say that t gebruder combines "art and technology into a formal unit." t gebruder also states that they "produce expressive pieces of contemporary history known as the new objectivity." pretty darn cool.

t gebruder is known as thonet throughout europe with some of their work designed by michael thonet. i just really like the added flair each piece offers an otherwise formal office space. a reminder in some respects, to not take the day too seriously, in the end. enjoy!

the conference chair.

i love these for a new take on the average conference chair, this "inno lounge" by four design...
like a school desk for writing, the inno lounge offeres a small space for a tablet, and for "individuals to listen, learn, move, rest," and to generate "teamwork in small or large groups."

i love that concept. and i love this design. it offers a v-shaped back for ergonomic support and comfort and a flexible, tilting overall shape. plus if you have to go to a conference, they're just more cool looking don't you think? enjoy!

bent wood jumper.

i have to say, for some reason i'm not really an air plant person, but these orange bent wood "jumper" plant stands offered up by 11 main are eye catching...
kind of cool for desktops, window sills or other small nooks and crannies you have. that are in need of cool bent wood planters. right? enjoy!

husk chairs.

i really like these for office or conference room chairs. you know...to do it a little bit differently.
they're called "husk" chairs. they are designed by patricial urquiola for b&b italia. there are endless color combinations, material and sizes, (like you can get extra large in these and be super comfortable at work ALL day!), & you can purchase matching foot rests too. okay, that would be dangerous while trying to get work done. a little too relaxing.

but seriously, i love when companies such as b&b italia offer a new take on the traditional, functional design. even getting you to look at an office chair differently. or more comfortably! enjoy...

these desks...

so the london based design firm, isomi, and designer paul croft, have come up with THE most exquisite desks...
constructed out of krion porcelanosa, these desks can also be personalized, backlit with translucent graphics and signage. not. even. funny. beautiful! i cannot say enough about these in white, as i believe they pull off the faux porcelain aspect, and to me, the very flowing & organic shape are highlighted best in white. but the material does come in a huge variety of colors as well. and i suppose in the right environment, color would work, or even be essential.

but i have to tell you, if i opened the doors to my own commercial space tomorrow, this "kin" desk would be my first choice, in white. enjoy!

meetings.

what does the way in which you set up a meeting, the ways in which you design a meeting say?
and so here's another question...can the atmosphere surrounding a meeting actually change the outcome of the meeting? interesting & provocative to consider.

i was in a number of meetings yesterday. and i'm not sure if it's me, but i take in my surrounding immediately, no matter where i land. it affects me, it moves me and it can also sort of deflate me or leave me feeling non-productive and off in general. does that happen to you? the italian company design you edit is offering up these "twiss on beam chairs" and a whole plethora of other amazing office furniture, the kind that can, i actually think, change the outcome of a meeting.

design you edit offers inspirational furniture, if furntiture can be inspirational. (which i think it can!) the company was "born" in 2012 and by 5 partners all with entreprenurial and managerial experience. their mission, they state, is to "provide inspirations and improve aspirations." see, having a meeting within a particular environment, surrounded by particular pieces of furniture (even really cool chairs like these) says something, it sends upbeat, positive, go gettem' slants and energy and we all need that people! just saying....enjoy!

these 5 "mood" chairs offered up by artifort provide interesting visual options for your work spaces, depending on your style, the sort of base you prefer, and whatever mood you are in...
five different looks, one for each day of the work week. a mood for every mood. and after all, that's aritfort's slogan. perfect! enjoy...

maxdesign.

recently, designlovefest's blog posted about reimagining your work spaces. considering this idea, some beautiful contemporary pieces coming out of the italian company maxdesign are certainly perfect additions to freshening up a space that you spend alot of time in...
one of maxdesign's objectives is paying attention to "the well-being of the spaces in which we live and work, more and more small, sometimes temporary, certainly in flux."

maxdesign recognizes the pace with which we work today, that we are sometimes spending long hours in work spaces & places and sometimes we are mobile or moving our spaces or moving them around. they realize that we depend on fresh & easy changes to our work atmospheres to keep our minds fresh, to keep our creativity flowing in innovative ways. did i just over analyze office furniture? maybe. maybe not...enjoy!

monday & sancal tables. their sweet spot

happy monday friends! i wanted to share a fab find with you today, though i have featured sancal in the past, for me, their one sweet spot, is their array of interesting and just really fabulous tables.

residentially, sancal admits to wishing to contribute to "intelligent homes," and for commercial spaces, sancal strives to create "pleasant spaces" in public spaces. on that note, here are few of my absolute favorites offered up by sancal...

i'm not exactly sure why i'm so drawn to sancal's line of tables, they do offer plenty of other fabulous product to be sure, but perhaps it's just that, the line in their design. for residential use, sancal designs are swift, clear, direct and easy to imagine your own. to finish them yourselves, to place this and that on or around them. it's easy to do. and that's good! commercially they are also very interesting because placed in public spaces, it would be intriguing to notice random and spontaneous interaction with their pieces. i love that!

how was your weekend friends? mine was really great. my son was home from college, i got outdoors, alot. i worked on course work, a little. drank more coffee than i needed, just because it was so good. and bought new white sheets that made me soooo happy. hey, it's the little things sometimes ;) enjoy your monday start!
