have a super weekend! (kind of late)

i had another buuuuuusy week! how was yours?

so i'm late saying have a super weekend! what are you up to, anything amazing? i'd love to hear! i spend the weekend these days resting and recovering from busy work weeks, learning a fabulous new job, commuting on the train, which i'm finding very interesting people-wise, (see my instagram images here) and trying to take care of myself in general.

so cheers to rest & relaxation, to doing fun things or doing absolutely nothing! and it's the weekend, so some fun finds from around the world wide web:

gan

there is alot to love about this company gan. they are india-based and offering up a number of products made by hand, "gently"...super textural items that "become a system of shapes and volumes that redefine the concept of habitability."
gan works in india developing local economies wherever they present, they are also an active participant in "child protection programs and sponsor a women's development project in a rural setting." don't you love all of that?

i was first drawn to the bold, perfectly over-thick textural element to most of gan's pieces. they offer a particular warmth in pattern and bring a reminder of natural sensibilities to spaces. see more of what gan offers up here, & enjoy!

monday & filling spaces

portland oregon-based filling spaces, every bit of their product line, encompasses "rich artistic tradition, creativity and craftsmanship." oh, and it's totally all about textiles, pattern & texture, color palettes that remind you of the ocean, the sky, of gardens and getting outdoors in every way...
these were a few of my favorites, though it was hard to pair it down to just these. the color palettes and patterns pull at my "i was raised by my mother who often wore hand-dyed batik indian dresses while playing the acoustic guitar" heartstrings. they really do. and she really did. enjoy!

a seating menagerie.

this tuesday i wanted to share a selection of seating options offered up by northern icon...
some northern icon pieces sit more classically, some more playful and colorful (for that unexpected wow piece!), and some you are drawn to just because you really like it (like that velour circus pouf). that's what a design company worth its weight does, it offers you tons of options depending on your overall style, look, or that absolute wow piece that you are going for. enjoy!
