happy long weekend!

(via)

here's to hoping you are enjoying the heck out of your long weekend! i will admit, like many of us, i'm in a sort of reflective mode as of late. jarring events in this country force an introspection, to arrange and work through feelings, anger, confusion, you name it.

i hope that you are processing ok. that you are finding beauty around you. for me that's staying outside as much as i can. taking in everything in and around me that i am thankful for and more. so you'll find me listening to the chirping birds that wake me up every morning. reading curled up on the deck, embracing the warmth of the sun and the weight that it feels like it lifts while dave brubeck on shuffle plays in the background. sipping red wine slowly. and floating in my silly inflatable pool. because why not.

and some fun finds from around the world wide web:

just bought this summer bag. ( came just as it looked on line and so fun!)

so much goodness in these spaces, those warm brown nut colors throughout, gah, so good!

hair goals.

workstead

i've featured much of the greatness that comes out of the brooklyn-based (and charleston south carolina) design studio workstead before, but whenever they pull at my light loving heartstrings with new works, i just have to share...
and it doesn't stop there, with lighting i mean. workstead designs fabulous furniture options in a palette that is "strong and rich, yet simple and efficient." don't you just love that? see more, way more of what workstead offers up, here. for when you want to go off the grid, out of the box, purchase something handmade, something a little more special. yeah, like that. enjoy!

do you own a home?

and if so, what was it you were looking for that sold you?
(images)
was it the location that drew you to it? the style? or was it just a feeling that you can't explain, something that just pulled at you and said this is it, this is home? as i get older, i'm finding my tastes changing...and sometimes in pretty surprising ways. it's not that i've strayed too far from my original dreams or desires, but they have interesting twists now, views and attractions that my younger self would have never predicted.

i've never owned a home. and it's not that i haven't wished to, the right time, the right place/space just hasn't presented itself. or maybe i'm feeling a little less wanderlust and a little more planted. anyway, just thinking out loud. i'd love to hear your home buying feedback. enjoy!
