getting all kinds of modular.

it's funny that i post alot about cutting~edge design, modern takes on classic creations alot of the time. after all, this is avant garde design. what's funny is that truth be told, i am a vintage, gently worn furniture (even clothing!) kind of girl. i love pieces with a past, a history, a story to tell. they to me, are the most interesting...
but lately i'm feeling this sort of pre~spring cleaning~esque feeling coming over me. i'm organizing. everything really. so at times, pieces like these offered up by qubing pull me in and say hey...it's ok to have one uber modern piece. a piece that is willing to hold, store, prop up or conceal anything and everything. sometimes you just want clean lines. you know? just saying...enjoy!

just a cool coffee table.

the studio/shop/think tank ehoeho offers up alot of imaginative product but this "one two table" and the "one two three table" (2nd image) are two of my favorites. part utilitarian, part sculptural, it's the design that shines here. but it's also the wood...
and in talking about the wood, ehoeho reminds us that "while it is beautiful in its texture wood is one of the most difficult materials for a designer to master, because it is virtually the only building material that is vegetable rather than mineral. with this vegetable origin, comes a host of issues relating to directional properties, strength, stiffness, grain patterns, shrinkage, distortion, insect damage and fire."

i've been drawn to a few amazing designs lately that are utilizing wood, and some in their very raw element. the wood left to take center stage, uncompromised & alongside the design. wood never becomes insignificant in the world of design. it is primitive, classic and lasting. and that's a good thing. enjoy!

worley's lighting. etsy afternoon finds.

i stumbled upon shelli worley's lighting and etsy site via design sponge, who featured her work this summer, here. and i seem to be on a upcycled and vintage kick today between both posts, so let's just go with it...!
i really love worley's cross between industrial & vintage with a bit of rustic thrown in for even more character. i could imagine any of worley's lighting, just about anywhere in my home.

have a great rest of this friday friends and i'll see you around the blogosphere this weekend, to say hi, to ogle your beautiful blogs and to become even more inspired doing it. enjoy ;)

perfect for an afternoon boost no? how is your day friends? i'd love to hear.

i'm working under grey skies but every now and then, we need a tiny break from the summer sun. it makes us get things done we wouldn't otherwise. like slowing down & reading. or sipping coffee a little bit slower. or shopping for something to boost our grey day spirits. like i said, it's needed every now and then...enjoy!

a late day post. & classics.

ooh, sorry for the late day post, a bit of running around today took longer than i thought. i'd been savoring this shot, found via and this bag was like dancing with me. it's just simply holding all of those classics, the rolled up, gently worn jeans, that white top, whether it be a t-shirt of something a bit more feminine, such as this pretty number and topped off with the classic black patent leather heels. am i right or am i right? ah, yeah....

what is your go~to classic? is it this complete ensemble or something completely different? i'd love to hear!

as for me, this definitely tops at number one for a go~to classic outfit. i also love a good pair of ballet flats and a short, pretty, dress. you can't go wrong with either! enjoy...
