happy easter weekend!

what a better way to celebrate an upcoming easter weekend than through the amazing artwork of indianapolis-based artist casey roberts...
i realized casey's work through the jealous curator site and found it captivating. you can read more about the civil war era technique (no really!) that casey uses in the, what he calls "not so nerdy as you think" artistic process of achieving these paintings. it has to do with using sunlight, light sensitive mediums and other household ingredients such as baking soda, bleach and peroxide. casey's love and respect of nature comes through in all of this paintings, which at times read as block prints or illustrations. the medium is curious. the subject matter is familiar but somewhat fantastic and magical in some ways. at least to me. it's also amazing!

i hope that you have a suuuuuuuuuper relaxing long weekend. & that maybe if you reflect on nothing else, take in nature. and how amazing it is too.

in between all of that, of course, some fun friday finds:

wishing for this ace & jug striped playsuit.

imagine eating here surrounded by these vines? beautiful.

kind of a cool do-it-yourself closet space.

a neat coffee mug/thermos for coffee on the go.

love this black one piece swimsuit.

these french toast muffins look goooooood!

a super sweet door knocker.

did you buy tulips for easter? how to make them last longer.

loving these "slice" earrings.

this lamp just sold. i love it. and darn it.

hello from the otter side. cute.

enjoy!

jess's leather line

the netherlands-based design company, jess, has caught my leather loving eye today...
and this is a confident company my friends. what does that mean? well, the first line of their statement page reads "jess produces designer furniture with a unique character: reliable, pure and with a touch of audacity. we have 20 years experience and you can tell." see?

but i love that! get behind your brand, you materials, your product line. boast about it. bragging isn't bragging if you can back it up, right? and this leather line does. jess also refers to their line here and there as "daring" and "seductive." and it is. sumptuous materials, soft edges, natural and creamy color palette. they are provocative pieces, masculine and feminine at the same time. i have to say that leather isn't always my go to fabric when selecting furniture. and that's because i usually find most pieces repetitive in style and design and sometimes oozing an overall tackiness. but i reaaaaally like this line. alot. hope you do to. enjoy!

rug crush: west elm

when i moved into my apartment, i was determined to have no rugs. not one. and for heaven's sake, no wall to wall carpet. i can. not. do. carpet. can't. but lately there are a few eye catching rug lines questioning my oath to the extreme sparse. west elm is one of them...
lots of quiet lines, soft or fading patterns, distressed or crisp. there were so many i liked that i could have posted about ALOT more. these are a few current fav's. hope that you had a great weekend and here's to monday, a fresh start to a brand new week. go get em' & enjoy!
