hey for mondays! i hope that your weekend was relaxing and christmas~y. this monday i'm drawn to these light containers designed by basque designer martin azua...

they are made in 3 different sizes. hang just one or clumps. that's what's fun about single pendant lights. you can get all kinds of creative with them. martin is also creating some very different pieces, other than these pendants. you can check out more of his work, here. enjoy!

we are in for some snow, cloudy and cold days (ah, not my favorite type of weather.) like this guy, i always look for sunlight, it keeps me going! but i did manage to get out for a walk tonight, an early evening walk, in the light snow. i love walking at night sometimes because you notice homes, people, the trees, the ocean, in a different way than during the day.

i saw christmas parties going on inside homes, beautifully lit homes decorated for the season. and all of that with the snow falling...it was silent out, crisp and made me not miss the light...so much. enjoy!

what about you? are you a hat person? or are you one of those people who loves the idea and when you put it on, you're like.....nope. well i do think you have to be comfortable in a hat. and that it shows if you are not. i think that that's part of art, of pulling it off. me? i'm a hat person. i could have a whole closet full of them...but i will admit, i do have to be in the mood. and when i am, there is something that feels just so right about wearing a hat, and fun! enjoy!

artek bright.

i love these this morning, these "stool 60" chairs offered up by artek. and i love that they're bright!

designed by alvar aalto for tom dixon and artek, they were purposely coated in neon colors and interesting patterns to draw attention to the classic minimalism of their design, so as to not overlook them. well it worked...plus they're fun ;) enjoy!

leather wrapped lights.

well these are decadent...

the material is a surprising choice, thick & decidedly luxurious leather. dimming the light in leather, with its sort of provocative side zipper makes for an interesting and unusual combination of material meets lighting, decadent meets utilitarian. i really love these, for both residential and commercial settings. they are called "tubo" lights and are offered up by formagenda, you can see more of what they offer here.

it seems also that there is a slight nod to fashion here, if you want to look hard enough...enjoy!

i stumbled upon the jealous curator today (a great blog featuring art and artists!) which then led me to the very sexpot photographs by german artist and photographer bernhard handick...

his photos are very vogue, very avant garde. i love the use of the figure, with fashion, with a mixed media approach. the colors, the line, all of it. gorgeous! enjoy...

the company founded, and founded in the netherlands, is making some exquisite tables and chairs...

lots of leather is used and utilized, lots of wood and steel. a mixture of some of natures truest materials i suppose. and they are always perfect together. you can see that the quality is there, the attention to detail, and certainly designed for the ways in which you see and then enjoy each piece.

and the one armed armchairs? you can order them with left or right arms only, which ever you would like. enjoy!

this monday, it's snowing, it's raining, it's dark and grey...i'm having a tough time getting motivated, staying focused and energized, i have to admit.

my sleeping has been mediocre as one of my best friends is starting chemotherapy today for breast cancer. i find myself dreaming about her when i do sleep and worrying about her when i'm awake. the month is busy, but in a lot of ways, of course beautiful, christmas is coming, winter is here...but this is the time of year this happens to me, instead of feeling like settling in and hibernating, i feel antsy, i crave getting outside more and i miss the sun. there, i'm done whining...how is your monday starting out?
