bold in gold

not just for summer, i'm enjoying this bold in gold line designed by french jewelry designer justine clenquet...
justine describes her line as "a mix of elegence and underground culture with a hint of 90's nostalgia." justine makes each piece by hand and with their classic meets punk (this is bringing me back to when i wanted to look like pat benatar SO BAD) finished product, i'm loving these particular pieces today. to see more of justine's work, head here. and enjoy!

fine life co.

tucson arizona-based fine life co is one of those places that if i was visiting the area, and stumbled upon this sweet shop, i could go crazy with things to love...
this is only a small snippet of what would be in my basket, such thoughtful, special home and personal accessories. fine life co. specializes in products for woman and from a variety of talented people in the u.s., a collaborative effort that all comes together to provide a "positive experience that will live as long as our products do!" as their about page states.

well, i don't live in arizona, so thank goodness for a fine life co.'s on line site. great gift ideas or great gift ideas for yourself, myself! enjoy...

thorn and burrow clutches

okay, these clutches are not cheap, (even on sale!), but i still want one. no wait...all of them.
enjoy!

artist spotlight: mia christopher

san francisco-based artist mia christopher's abstract, mixed media paintings have captured my attention today...
mia works with gestural splashes of nail polish, ink and acrylic paint, generous blobs of glue & glitter and on surfaces such as paper, canvas and plexiglass, all making for expressive and textural pieces. mia regularly keeps sketchbooks, (see them here) (which i LOVE) displaying her very freeing use of line and experiments in color palette combinations.

mia's work is interesting and easy on the eyes. fun & flirtatious, free form goodness. when purchasing art, you need to really ask yourself whether or not you see a piece in your home, on your wall, forever. i would enjoy one of mia's pieces (her nail polish and ink pieces are my favorite, & which i've featured in this post) in my home. they have a very positive energy that i'm drawn to. enjoy!

gamfratesi

the design studio gamfratesi combines the serious talents of danish architect stine gam and italian architect enrico fratesi. each is cognitive of the storied backgrounds and history of their cultures, of architecture and design within their cultures. & according to gamfratesi's studio page, "understanding a tradition and addressing it actively in the workshop makes it possible to expand on it"...
founded in 2006, gamfratesi is based in cophenhagen, though stine & enrico travel often to both italy and denmark "for development and research of new products." stine & enrico claim that in designing, they "explore the diverse border zone between harmony and disharmony."

i'm not sure how to interpret that except that they push the boundaries, of expectation, of even perhaps, what's standard or appropriate or desired, offering you fresh chances, with each design, to dare to be different, to catch you off guard, to throw you a design curve ball. i love that! enjoy...

monday & collar swimwear

the latvian lingerie & swimwear label collar offers up some of the most uniquely sexy swimwear i've seen in a while...
i find this swimwear line by collar to teater on the lingerie/swimwear prurient line, as if each could be worn interchangeably, and that's just fun, and sexy, and yeah. enjoy!

have a fun (long) weekend!

it's friday and a long weekend, BONUS!
(via)
are you up to fun plans? i've been feeling super creative lately, sewing, painting, baking (hence the foodie links below!) so i'm hoping to remain in that mode as it feels good when i'm in that sort of zone so to speak.

i just finished this book (long but very worth the time, hang in there!) and i have so many mixed feelings about it! at times i was on the brink of putting it right down and returning it to the library but there is something compelling about and in donna tartt's writing that almost forces you to trudge along and get to the end, as if it's a real reward for going through what much of the main character goes through (trying times to the point of such sadness) in hopes that there is a brighter light, like the bright golden color of the finch, in the end. kind of a WOW book for me. anyway...

it's friday and so, here are some fun finds from around the world wide web:
