ricochet describes their line as "romantic and whimsical, lustful and alluring, run and rebellious." and their latest line, "tainted love" is chock full of minimal lines, no fuss, but with a sexy chic attitude. ricochet's dresses suit the body well. they accentuate your frame while at the same time standing out all on their own. i love that! p.s...they have a really great sale going on...enjoy...

ricochet dresses.
if i could lounge around in dresses and heels all day long, these, offered up by ricochet would be some of my first choices...

i love the look of these plants inside. plants, styled correctly, can make such a statement in your spaces...all by themselves.

basic bamboo.
minimalistic and clean. i love the lines & the look of these basic bamboo lights offered up by schneid...
during a new year, and as you (i) try to simplify, to downsize, to reign it in...to surround yourself with clean, easy pieces, lines and lights...these eikon bamboo lights (they also come in ash or oak) are right up the "let's kick off the new year simply," alley. at least for me. enjoy!

humanoid. an outfit.
i stumbled upon this clothing and accessory line, humanoid. humanoid began with a "fun punk attitude," a line after my own heart... here are a few of my current wintry favorites.
one of the sort of cool things i noticed while flipping through humanoid's line is that i want to layer everything. it suits itself to that. to layering. humanoid describe themselves, their line, as "comfortable, feminine and contemporary." yeah but it still has a little bit of that punk hanging on...i love that! enjoy...
impact.
happy monday friends. sometimes i'm still amazed at the impact of art. of how it enters a space, transforms it, how it changes the mood, instantly...in an either quiet or loud sort of way...
these two rooms are from the home of gallery owner jules julian and were featured on coco lapine design's blog, here.
being a gallery owner, of course her home is going to incorporate artwork(s). but i'm especially drawn to her choice of large, impact, statement pieces. they are powerful and present.
what about you? do you currently have an impact piece in your home? i recently bought a vintage madonna-esque figure holding a child (sculpture). i'm not especially religious, i just liked the piece. i restored it and spray painted it a glossy blood red. i'm not sure why i chose that color. but it sure is powerful. enjoy!

all in the lines.
this bachelor chair, part of only one of the fabulous lines by montana, is just that...all about the lines.
formed at the base from two bow-shaped tubes, and a stretched seat, this bachelor chair and stool can be ordered in a variety of materials and color palettes. so if you want this seat outdoors, you can have that option too!
designed after verner panton's 1955 panton chair, it's as innovative & modern today as it was then. some things are just timeless. perfect really.
happy weekend friends! i hope you are sipping your coffee a little bit slower today. i am...enjoy!

this site inspires me today, to get creative with some style posts, to pretend to be anything, to play dress-up, to have fun...

let's think leisure furniture. why not?
so this is what's going on...there's a foot of snow on the ground in my part of the world (no, really, there is!). and it's still snowing. yeah. now you understand my let's think leisure posts, my get ready for garden decor posts, my let's imagine we're sitting outside in the warm sun posts...
while i'm doing this imagining...i wanted to share this line offered up by skargaarden, who boasts "furniture for tranquility" as one of their main logos. tranquility is good.
skargaarden also admits they have a philosophy that runs true through their company, which incorporates all of their product line: "an ambition to make uncomplicated beauty with intricate detail and expert craftsmanship." so there you have it...great design, great looking design, all in an effort to help our "i'm out in the warm sun" imagination posts...i'm out in the warm sun, i'm out in the warm sun...enjoy!

already thinking of gardens...
i know it's only january 2nd. i know it's cold freezing out (in my part of the world). i know there is currently snow on the ground. but i'm already thinking of gardens...
and especially this garden/patio furniture line, cu!, offered up by wilde & spieth is designed by avinash shende who was born and raised in india.
this cu! chair is super stable, manufactured as one piece, no screws, no separate parts. and the cu! chair has optional padded seat and back cushions, so you are comfy in your garden or patio. a great look is one thing, but comfort, yeah...we all still want that. stack them. bring them indoors or out. these are just great design, and add a very cool architectural quality to your natural environments. plus they're pretty. so...enjoy!

clear and a new year.
a couple of days after christmas i took a walk. it was almost the new year, it was clear. a baby seal pup and the mom and dad followed me along as i walked. they kept peeking up at me to see where i was. people walked slowly, even the ocean seemed quiet that day.
this beach allows trucks to explore too. i love the imprints of tires in the sand. lines that go forward, outward, to where they are going, and lines that come in, from where they've been.
the waves and the marks they left behind mimicked the sky and the few clouds that were there. the sky was quiet too. this is my edge, it's where i go to get clear, to stay clear. it's where i go to remember things and it's where i go to forget things. this day seemed extra clear.
now it is the new year! i hope this new year is just as clear. i hope that yours is too! enjoy...
