green mobiles by alexis tricoire.

i really like the idea of these "green mobiles" by alexis tricoire architects for a shopping mall in prague. these mobile, suspended gardens were designed in the likeness of shopping bags and constructed from 3form varia and 40% recycled content, staying with the whole green idea on this project...
(via)
whether they were for a mall, or any commercial space for that matter, i just thought that they, the shape and texture of the planters, the way in which they cascade, from high to low, is all just so interesting and eye catching. just saying...enjoy!

totokaelo boot love.

these boots, offered up by totokaelo, ah, yeah, i want those...
for fall? aaaamazing. i'm thinking already of the pairing combinations. not that i'm rushing summer. not at all. but every now and then, a sale happens, fall designs emerge and you can't help but start wishing for particular color combinations, textures, boots. these boots! enjoy...

connection coffee table.

i really like this coffee table. this "connection" table offered up by gallotti & radice and designed by massimo castagna is a new addition to their already completely amazing line of product for interiors. and their site? not even funny beautiful...
each table is made from extra light tempered glass and hand burnished brass, which then offers a unique perspective each and every time. every brass support finishes differently, naturally spotted and irregular. so the table you purchase is unique to you. i love that!

check them out for sure, especially if you are in the market for a higher end or wow piece, for yourself or your clients. as you peruse their website, you find yourself awed by piece after piece, re-making up your mind that that's your favorite one. no...wait a second, that one is...and so on, and so on...enjoy!

touching strangers.

somehow i missed this last month in the new york times. richard renaldi's "touchings strangers" project and portfolio in which he asks total strangers to touch, for just a short while, for just enough time to take a meaningful photograph. and in the end, i think something meaningful happened, for all involved...
renaldi, at times, had a difficult time convincing people to take part, especially when he asked orthodox jews to pose/touch un-orthodox jews, and some appear under duress in general. but for the most part, people seemed to embrace the notion, some even kissed! anyway, sometimes its the simple things we take for granted and it can also be the simple things, that when they happen, stop you and make you wonder why those simple things, like just touching a stranger, are so hard in the first place. enjoy!

sixE. not your average stacking chair.

when you are designing spaces, places, especially those that need not or can not be so daring, so, let's just say provocative, you then need slightly traditional, casually conservative. in those situations, you (if you're like me) still want to design with flare. with a tiny bit of different. these sixE stackable chairs offered up by howe are that tiny bit of different...just, stacked.
yes they offer comfort, utility, they are efficiently perfect for those more traditional/professional spaces. but hey, those spaces do not (they should not) be void of some style, some unique perspective or flare.

these sixE chairs re-define design, they refine the more conservative spaces with a sort of wink, and a nod, to great design, to offer you a little bit of a less traditional experience whilst enjoying these spaces. and hey, if these were the chairs behind my desk at school, all those years ago, i'd be looking forward to more than just new school shoes at the beginning of the year. enjoy!

some simple things...

happy weekend friends! the days have slipped away from me lately...i suppose that's what summer is about though, and that's a good thing...
( lee ufan paintings, don't touch the hair print, bangle, simple styling)

i wanted to share some simple things i'm loving lately. actually, i'm loving simple all together lately. slowing things down, looking, listening, taking in summer in every way that i possibly can.

i hope your weekend is everything (summer~y) you want it to be! what are you up to? i'd love to hear. i have today off from just about everything. there is a historical museum near me that i run/walk by and have always wanted to venture into. they just added an amazing bronze sculpture of a family sitting on a bench outside of the building. and i don't know what the family is supposed to signify. so i'm going to find out today ;) enjoy!

strap tables. by paola lenti.

this seems to be a new concept in side tables. placing a strap or handle on top for easy transport, mobility or maybe it's just for the look of it. either way, i'm really liking the look of it...
it somehow offers just a little bit of personality to the piece. as if the handle puts a little smile on the table. and putting a smile on the table is a good thing...

this "strap" table, offered up by paola lenti is described as for outdoor, as a garden or patio piece. made of aluminum with a one or two-toned rope handle, this little side table would also come indoors...if it were mine ;) enjoy!

RED INSPIRED...

i don't know what it is about red lately...but i'm loving this color.
(1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
it's funny too because growing up, i had an eccentric grandmother who loved the color red. so much so, that it turned me off to the color for a long time. recently i'm noticing rich reds fashioned, placed and displayed in the area which i live, and in such a way as to revive my love for this beautiful color.

today i wanted to share with you some current favorite product, all in red, that i'm coveting...from that low, red storage cabinet, to the textile design in the second image from charles and ray eames, to that amazing bloom umbrella offered up by sywawa parasols, to the quirky quilted clock and crazy sexy red ceramic tile slabs offered up by dune...all are just sensational in red. don't you think? enjoy!

alyson fox & patterns.

how intoxicating are these "quilts" pattern/color combinations created by alyson fox?
just when you think you've seen every color/pattern combination out there, artists like alyson take you on a new ride, they offer you new design options, new inspiration. i love that! plus, alyson is one cool cat. she composes many of her projects in a mixed mediums & she states on her site that she is inspired by hardware stores, building sites, people's messes and empty rooms. like i said, just plain cool...enjoy!

the crossbow table. by nathan day design.

happy monday morning friends! this morning, i'm seriously in love with the incredible design of this crossbow table, by nathan day design...
handmade from cherry wood, each table by nathan day design can be custom sized. nathan day suggests that "in a modern world of disposable possessions, i don't think there has ever been a more important time to create something of value and unquestionable quality." well said, and true.

if you stop, and look around your apartment or house, do you own something of real quality? something that is so well made, the quality is such that you will have it forever, you will want to have it forever? just a though on this monday morning...enjoy!

it's friday?

so...i don't know what happened to this week really except that it was a true, summer, busy busy week. after a day or two i realized i've barely been on my computer. which means i've barely been blogging. but also means in between work, i've been swimming, sipping wine, enjoying summer sun and breezes. so...
(via)
what about you? do you sometimes get lost in a season? which is your favorite? mine, is definitely summer. now...if i had a fireplace, winter might come in at a close second ;)

so it's also the weekend! what are you up to? i am heading straight to the beach tomorrow as i have a very much needed day off. i will be packing sandwiches, sparkling water and maybe grapefruit inspired by this fun image. oh, and down the street from one of my favorite beaches is an ice cream shop. so...enjoy!

tuesday. in summer gold.

this tuesday i'm enjoying golden things, summer gold color palettes, textures, all things that resonate in gold...
1 2 3 4 5
from tables to tufted golden rugs to pointy shiny golden wall hooks, i'm craving golden everything. and i'll tell you why. it has been grey and raining in my part of the world for about one week now. i'm talking zero sunshine.

so. if you were in my shoes, wouldn't you be on the hunt for even tiny (or in the case of this fabulous product, giant) glimpses of gold right about now? right. enjoy!
