currently coveting akari light sculptures

i feel like i've gone through some months now not knowing exactly what is inspiring or moving me in some way, besides nature...

gemla

there are times when i really wish for a large dining table and in doing so, i'm always imagining how or with what seating i would pair with it. i'm lately loving the nude leather and wood combinations of seating offered up by the swedish furniture design company gemla...

gemla is one of the oldest furniture design companies in sweden, stamping the date into each piece they make...some 150 years old! gemla's philosophy touts its use of carefully crafted materials such as beech and ash, leather and exquisite hardwares. this is certainly seating that can be passed down, generation after generation. and that's what gemla hopes for. and i'm hoping i find a large dining table one day soon to pair them with. enjoy!

monday & rackk & ruin.

now that i'm really looking towards christmas gift ideas (no, not for me. no! ha!), i'm stumbling over the prettiest things, like this beautiful line of jewelry offered up by designer molly conant & rackk & ruin. have a look...

"rackk & ruin is a sun drenched studio and retail shop" in burlington vermont. and if you are not living in or visiting burlington vermont any time soon (though i encourage you too, it's beautiful!) at least we can purchases molly's original jewelry pieces on line. phew!

and she offers up so much more than earrings. i just had to focus on one line that i loved! see more here, and get xmas shopping! enjoy...

woven angled seating.

if you are pressed for space (or even if you're not!) this woven angled seating arrangement is so curiously brilliant...

take handwoven walnut seating, pair it with a substantial marble and timber dining table, accent it all with clean graphic forms and glossy brass and you have, well, this. the UK company efasma is selling this particular piece(s) designed by bureau de change, a "collection of tables and chairs designed with notches in them", as described on the contemporist.

the design firm bureau de change approached this piece as they would their architectural commissions. there is alot of depth, richness, and interest going on here. the line in the design keeps your eye moving, all around, from this angle to that. to lines of fabric to crisp creases of brass. it's just all so great. enjoy!

with names like "flip phone", "cool bananas", and "fruit gang," these bright and graphic pillows offered up by aelfie are just plain ol' having fun (especially for a monday!)...

aelfie is a boutique home goods company based in brooklyn new york. aelfie also has a huge array of handmade, hand dyed rugs that i LOVE, with an "evident love of color and play" (as is stated on their site). i thought their product line might be a cheerful way of beginning the week. enjoy!
