i am laying low, moving slow, having a few family members & friends for thanksgiving dinner and planning on sipping wine, engaging in relaxing conversation surrounded by football sounds.

and i went off the grid a bit this year , creating classic dishes with an innovative edge, this friendsgiving post prompted me to want to get just a little bit more creative this thanksgiving... i'm making the twice baked root vegetable mash, let you know how it comes out!

are you up to anything fabulous? i'd love to hear! sunday is supposed to be super sunny in my part of the world and i plan on soaking up some rays! there is something to be said for having a little summer glow on. everyone looks just a little bit healthier with some sun on their face, at least i think so.

don't get me wrong, i do love a rainy day now and then. but i'm trying to stay inspired and creative and energetic for a few projects on my plate and this grey, rainy day, let me just say, doesn't help. but this image does. enjoy!

i just turned in my thesis proposal (or at least the first version, it will be sent back for revision more than once) and i'm feeling this sense of freedom and creativity in what i accomplished...at least what i accomplished today.

but after a huge day, i do have a comfy spot, where i am able to peruse design pages/blogs/sites i enjoy. and maybe soon, i'll be out taking a few more photos, on the beach, not working near it!

green. & more of it.

i'm currently searching for a new place to live. and new spaces means a chance to do things differently. for this new year and this new outlook, the one thing i'd love to incorporate more of is more green.

succulents are one of my favorite greens to surround myself by. there is something so perfect about them, at least in my opinion. i love the textural look of succulents, they are filled with a promising look, sturdy and strong. i like that.

so, as this new year begins, i begin anew. i'm almost finished with graduate school, job searching, searching for a new place to land. i'll keep you posted as to how it's going...what about you? what are some essential musts or desires are you searching for in your life, in your spaces, as this promising new year begins? i'd love to hear. enjoy!

the snow wait.

i have to admit, although i'm a summer person hands down, i am awaiting our first snow. especially around christmas. watching christmas specials on t.v., hearing all of the songs on the radio, in stores. ogling so many pretty winter fashions. it just seems like there should be snow. that's all.

i love this idea. especially when there are similar mediums, tones of oil pastels, crayons, graphite and charcoal. mixed and blended, these mediums, no matter the subject, the image or study, offer a softness, a compatibility to the grouping, to the space, to your well being in the space. sooooo....the way it should be. enjoy...
