sixE. not your average stacking chair.

when you are designing spaces, places, especially those that need not or can not be so daring, so, let's just say provocative, you then need slightly traditional, casually conservative. in those situations, you (if you're like me) still want to design with flare. with a tiny bit of different. these sixE stackable chairs offered up by howe are that tiny bit of different...just, stacked.
yes they offer comfort, utility, they are efficiently perfect for those more traditional/professional spaces. but hey, those spaces do not (they should not) be void of some style, some unique perspective or flare.

these sixE chairs re-define design, they refine the more conservative spaces with a sort of wink, and a nod, to great design, to offer you a little bit of a less traditional experience whilst enjoying these spaces. and hey, if these were the chairs behind my desk at school, all those years ago, i'd be looking forward to more than just new school shoes at the beginning of the year. enjoy!

summer color inspiration.

admittedly i'm becoming drawn to more white, to simple spaces, to breathable places. but on the outskirts of those thoughts, i'm terribly drawn to color too, especially as we inch our way towards summer. this afternoon, this color palette inspires me. fruity bright tones. fresh & lively.
(1, 2)
the weather in my part of the world is slowly warming, slowing showing signs of summer. and with this color palette inspiration, i'm ready to grab a fruity drink and tilt my face toward the sun ;)enjoy!

e15.

though e15's seating is really, simply, spectacular...with all of those very soft, sort of architecturally, geometric lines, another really great product e15 contributes to interiors are these fun and pretty little side tables and desks. some are sculpted, some are shiny and some are chunky. but, they are all unique, and i want one of everything...

"at the heart of all of e15 products is consistent, substantial and unique sense of understated luxury." that's at the heart of e15's mantra and i love that! understated luxury? that's a very good thing in the design world, or in our homes for that matter ;)

happy monday friends, another fresh start to a brandy new week. do you have something fabulous going on this week? something amazing you are working on or doing? i'd love to hear. for me, i'm doing a bit of research on one of my last papers...for this semester anyway. a bit of house cleaning and maybe a run thrown in for energy this morning. have a great day!!

funky multi~leg tables. monday fun.

happy monday friends! another fresh start to a new week. today i am drawn to these really fun, really funky, multi~leg tables. designed by jamie hayon for bd barcelona, they absolutely offer a new twist on the coffee & dining table, or storage cabinets and armoirs. have a look...

i think mixed into any space, modern & contemporary, or in a more vintage or traditional setting, residentially or commercially, these tables are one of those pieces that stop you, they remind you to not take design (or life) quite so seriously. and really, why can't there be multiple legs? i ask you? ;)

hope you are all relaxed from your holiday and feeling inspired, energetic and ready to do something great this week! enjoy...

monday morning push.

happy monday friends, happy fresh start to anything and everything! yeah for that. i'm still on a deadline for coursework, so i'm off to get to it. i hope you're weekend was everything you hoped and more...

this has pretty much been my look all weekend and will continue into today. perfect because i still have tons of work to do and it's raining outside. but i'd rather be away from my kitchen table and in that chair below...

this chair would make for comfy study time.

well, the rain is supposed to stop soon, the sun is supposed to pop out. and if it does, and if i finish all of my work earlier than expected today, i'm treating myself to a big fat mocha, with the whipped cream on top. i'm going to go somewhere sunny and sip it extra slowly. so there. ;) enjoy your monday!

guilherme torres has a very cool monday space.

i sort of stumbled by this post via the contemporist (here) and said to myself, "self, this is an extremely cool space!" seriously that's what i thought, immediately. it made me smile for a monday morning, it's playful, it's gritty, it's somehow delicate, it's somehow romantic and very much somehow cooler than cool.

(via the contemporist, here)

guilherme torres is a young brazilian architect and says this project came to life after taking on a small studio space, encountering electrical problems, wall cracks etc. and the need to consider repairs. " modern and avant-garde, the whole building cost approximately u.s. $6,000.00 and the low cost is due to its simplicity in architectural solutions." how amazing is that? it's just plain cool i say. especially for a monday morning.
guilherme torres also has a jazzy blog (here), with a header to die for and plenty of image eye~candy and inspiration. check it out! enjoy your start to the week, enjoy your monday morning. i hope the sun is shining, that you've had or are on your way to having a great cup of coffee and the day is starting out A ok! enjoy...

soothing sunday.

where are you having coffee this sunday morning? as for me, i'm plunked at the kitchen table, surrounded by course books and looming amounts of homework. but after a asiago, tomato and cheese omelet, home~made home~fries and organic coffee, i'm ready to dive in!

i hope you are enjoying a soothing sunday. i hope you are snuggled into a breakfast nook like any of these beauties! reading the paper, or finishing a great book. or just staring out at an amazing view, coffee in hand and the sun beaming in the window on your face. doesn't that sound nice? oh yeah!!! i'm happy to be back from my visit with my dad and back to regular blogging ;)
