cold picnic: rug love

seriously loving the rugs coming out of cold picnic right now...

"cold picnic was formed in 2010 by partners phoebe sung and peter buer, both of whom have backgrounds in fine arts and worked in corporate fashion design" and you can see all of that in the pattern and color play. i am drawn to the ways in which color line or blocks of color are positioned or just how they align or smash up against one another. i also love the leaving of open color space in the rugs.

i'm attempting to pack this weekend with all things that make me feel happy. i just saw him last night (ahhhhmazing!), really want to see the florida project, and my son is coming up to stay for the weekend, might hop on this, then hop off and grab dinner. can't wait.

sometimes all it takes is a simple accent rug, to throw off a space, to pull it together, to offer up a little bit of wow, or just plain ol' fun. i am drawn to simple circle shapes, much of the time...

and if so, what was it you were looking for that sold you?

was it the location that drew you to it? the style? or was it just a feeling that you can't explain, something that just pulled at you and said this is it, this is home? as i get older, i'm finding my tastes changing...and sometimes in pretty surprising ways. it's not that i've strayed too far from my original dreams or desires, but they have interesting twists now, views and attractions that my younger self would have never predicted.

i've never owned a home. and it's not that i haven't wished to, the right time, the right place/space just hasn't presented itself. or maybe i'm feeling a little less wanderlust and a little more planted. anyway, just thinking out loud. i'd love to hear your home buying feedback. enjoy!
