monday & three bad seeds.

hey it's monday, how are you?
well these will make you smile today...they are "quirky cushions for the home" handmade, and offered up by the company three bad seeds.

i love the name of this little company, founded in 2009 and comprised of amanda weiss, her husband joshua and their daughter marley. they are based in the pacific northwest, and obviously influenced by the nature surrounding them. these are so great scattered on couches, chairs, in baby cribs, on the floor...just about everywhere. i love these today! enjoy...

stone textile & pillows.

to add madness to an already insane pillow problem that i have, these black & white beauties offered up by stone textile are fast becoming a new favorite.
i guess what i love so much about pillows (i know...i'm getting a real deep about pillows here huh?) is that they are so versatile, mobile, movable, and with all of that, they change, transform, boost and compliment any space, all of the time. pillows are easy, can accommodate season changes and mood changes. and if a pillow problem is the worst thing i have going on right now, then i'll take it ;) enjoy!

symmetry space.

this afternoon, i'm drawn to the equilibrium, the symmetry that this space offers. sometimes you just need it...
(via)
there's a lovely balance, a harmony and comfortable~ness to this space. yet i really like how it's not quite perfect symmetry with the mismatched pillow patterns. fun! enjoy...

pretty pillows. mid~afternoon distraction.

how super sweet are these pillows, featuring pretty daffodil and folk flowers? each with a silk front and vintage fabric backing. love these i tell ya! find them over at brie harrison's site, here.
so how are you today? i started out this monday in typical fashion, a little grumpy, a little tired and a little blah. but i managed to finish the day with a tiny smile, a more positive outlook and increased energy. so that's good! plus these fabrics make me smile. so....

enjoy the rest of this monday friends!

re~looking at objects at re~found objects

happy monday friends! another fresh start to a brand new week. who knows what the week will hold right? i'm hoping for great things ;) while at the bookstore with my son this weekend, i came across this fab company featured in a fab design magazine. the company is called re~found objects and they specialize in just that, things you have either forgotten about, or have forgotten to take another look at. here is a small round~up of some of my re~found fav's...

from embroidered furniture and cushions, to vintage glassware, lighting and lightbulbs to those really fun for summer butterfly plates, i want lots of little pieces of re~found's objects. lots i tell you! just really cool stuff to peruse through, and to imagine what, how or where you could use any of these re~found objects.

how was your weekend? mine was super since my son was home from college. i gave him a hair cut (he prefers my trims over the barber, yes!). we hung at the bookstore, ran errands and slept in. so it was all good. i hope your weekend was glorious and that you are feeling refreshed and ready to go this monday morning. enjoy!!

maria hatling. a signature style

this tuesday i'm not only drawn to thoughts of spring & summer, but to the lively, clean, nature~inspired textile and print designs of maria hatling. good news & a fab find if you are a pillow junkie like me!

hatling grew up in norway but currently lives and works in london. reminiscent in her designs though, are those open, care~free scandinavian lines and concepts. hatling rejects many traditional printmaking techniques, choosing to create her artwork, freehand and input that artwork directly into the computer for printing. the result is just that, pure exploration...her work shows testing the boundaries between "color, shape, texture, space, technology and tradition." plus, they're just really great designs ;) bonus!

hey, hey for tuesday friends! what's on your agenda today? i'm working on the never ending reading and researching for my courses. but, in between all of that, i'm going to attempt this do~it~yourself project for a birthday gift. i already have the candle sticks, i am heading out this afternoon to purchase the paint. if it comes out really great, i'll snap some pictures. enjoy!

this tuesday, a melbourne home

did i really miss seeing this home featured on the design files in december? holy cow, so much to just love about bonnie ashley and neil downie's brunswick cottage. so much!!

and there's more, they have a website featuring some pretty home accessories. so...if you like the way they display, arrange, if you really like the little finds they are bringing in to this sweet space, check it out here.

and for those of you like me with a serious pillow problem, (ah, like me for instance ;) bonnie and neil (oh, and that's the name of their website too, how cute!) has an array of really fabulous pillows, many silk screened with super pretty images. pure pillow love!

speaking of little home accessories, my son and i are off to ikea today, to see what we find. he has a dorm room and we have a little cottage too, so there must be something we can't live without. right? have a great day this tuesday, i hope your morning is starting off in a positive way! enjoy...

getting bright, getting bold. mid~day inspiration

this mid~day monday, i'm energized and inspired by the intense, bold and daring color & pattern combinations coming out of basso & brooke's 2012 spring "power prints" line and print tuft and fold's pillow combinations. basso and brooke have an amazing catwalk line of images of more fashion choices here.

two new~to~me companies getting me excited for spring and summer. for design, for fashion, for what seems to be an upcoming year of color, color and more color! i love that!

how does this mid~day monday find you? i've been hunkered in, reviewing course materials and getting organized. or trying to ;) our monday goal in this house too, is to figure out why my next door neighbor keeps tripping the breaker box in her apartment, all. weekend. long. ugh! which means it affects our electricity. yeah. electricians are supposed to be on it today. i hope so, because i think i've reset the clocks in my house enough times over the last 2 days. yikes! have a great rest of your day friends....enjoy!
