have a fun weekend!

it's friday, the weekend is right here, do you have anything fun planned?
(via)
it seems to be feeling like spring across the entire country, so i'll be outside alot this weekend! i'm on the hunt for a new bicycle. it's one of those things i've LOVED doing since i can remember loving anything. growing up, outside, rain or shine i loved riding a bike. there's a fun freedom to it (not quite what you motorcycle guys/girls experience but still kind of a cool feeling). and i'm kind of old fashioned and not too picky in the sense that the bicycle does not exactly have to be tour de france ready, if you know what i mean.

i like simple styles, like this or this. i had a friend years ago, knowing i love vintage looking bikes, who pieced together one for me from parts of bicycles left at the landfill. cool right? so that's on the agenda.

and it's friday (again) so here's another fun line up of stuff i found while browsing around:

i want to give these soft perfume samples a try.

is it crazy that i really want this pink lightning bolt mirror?

& what about a rainbow mirror?

jewel is touring again. man i'd love to see her. are you a fan?

a beautiful bathroom makeover (those wall tiles!)

pretty gold X napkin rings.

if you're ever in stockholm sweden, why not do a rooftop walking tour? (i'd be scared!)

and if that doesn't scare you, maybe this will?

a cool palmyra lamp
.

what a pretty outdoor view from this bedroom.

pretty candles.

a stunning before and after paris apartment.

& if you know this entire story, this home makeover is gorgeous in every way.

loving these new cabinets with old paintings.

possibly the sweetest food truck ever.

if you are entertaining, these look so fun for st. patrick's day.

my hair has almost always been this color (since i was born) but feeling like a change & thinking of switching to something like this.

wherever you go, whatever you do, have a fun weekend!

beachy pillows

i know that i've mentioned it before, but pillows are one of those little home accessories that can be easily changed out to freshen up any space...
and whether or not you are just in the mood to change up color palettes, or change toward a seasonal vibe, it's just SO easy to rotate out or purchase new pillows and often. keeping all of that in mind, this watery, beachy color palette inspired line currently being offered up by bonnie and neil over at koromiko is one to consider. enjoy!

monday & matureware

man oh man is this line of brass architectural hardware by futagami, a japanese design firm unique or what?
with a design nod to the past, the line is referred to as matureware instead of "hardware" which is kind of brilliant too. anytime you switch out dated or boring hardware matureware in your home, it can act as a quick and easy facelift for spaces and sometimes pretty dramatically depending on what you use and the look that you are going for.

this matureware line would be stunning against all white doors, walls or cabinets. and yes, i'm still on the white color palette kick. enjoy!

bien fait.

i go in and out of loving wallpaper. fluctuating between wanting everything soft and clean and white to thinking wow, but what about this...
the very special french, bespoke company bien fait ("well made" in french) is offering up a jaw-droppingly exquisite line of wallpaper that (drawing on scandinavian and japanese influences) will have you second guessing any question you have or had regarding papering that wall.

i particularly LOVE the fades (as in first and second image). stunning. enjoy!

superfront.

if you are looking for a creative start to the new year, this is another cool choice for changing up furniture that might otherwise be plain or even slightly boring in its original form...
and hey, if you can find a sideboard or bed frame at ikea that is affordable but you wish that it had just a little more pizazz (first of all, grab it!) but then...change it up a little with what superfront has to offer. superfront is a swedish company that is sort of picking up where ikea leaves off, offering you attractive knobs, pulls, legs and color options to make a simple piece more original, more your own.

i love changing out hardware on new or vintage pieces (cabinets too!). sometimes just the smallest changes can really transform a piece that you were otherwise ready to part with. pretty pegs is another one of my favorite go-to sites for the same thing except it is all about the legs. enjoy!

it's friday and the weather in my part of the world has been pure indian summer...
(via)
people are in shorts (in november!) and i saw a guy walking the other day without a shirt. crazy! but hey, i'll take it ;) and so with that it's hard to even consider christmas is coming (and winter weather. shhhhhh!). my mind is still in summer mode, can't shake it!

ok, so i love this house.

this historic building in chihuahua mexico was restored and give a fresh, contemporary addition. the two together? perfection really...
the transformation was the result of the talented LABor Studio. according to the contemporist article, due to a number of older buildings in the historic district of chihuahua mexico being demolished to install surface parking lots (don't get me going!), the "population has migrated to the fringes leaving an empty housing stock." so what i really love about what LABor Studio set out to do was, through amazing design and thoughtful awareness of the very urban landscape, was "to demonstrate the possibilities of contemporary housing in the urban center."

to be an artist, a designer, an architect, is to be a visionary. to do something original, especially today, is difficult. LABor Studio has created something of a diamond in the rough. something spectacular. they have reintroduced gorgeous to the point where it sets an example that hopefully others will follow. enjoy!

p.s you can read more about this home and how it has many very "green" elements to it, here.
