galerie half

i recently discovered the los angeles based galerie half and all of the design goodness within...
scrolling their moody furniture layouts and how deliciously they've figured pieces in each space, i was having difficulty narrowing down images to share, but their seating options overall, stole my heart. their pieces are weighty classic in design yet all occupy hints of modern line. these are pieces that you'd want to hand down, they are appropriately timeless yet fabulously current.

see more of what galerie half has to offer here & enjoy!

every now and then i want to put on a bold earring, a statement piece, and usually with an understated outfit, so that they stand out, so that they steal the show. los angeles-based jewelry designer kathleen whitaker has recently launched her stone collection.

this my friends is a bold in stone or go home jewelry line. have a look at a few of my current favorites...

workstead

i've featured much of the greatness that comes out of the brooklyn-based (and charleston south carolina) design studio workstead before, but whenever they pull at my light loving heartstrings with new works, i just have to share...
and it doesn't stop there, with lighting i mean. workstead designs fabulous furniture options in a palette that is "strong and rich, yet simple and efficient." don't you just love that? see more, way more of what workstead offers up, here. for when you want to go off the grid, out of the box, purchase something handmade, something a little more special. yeah, like that. enjoy!

new lighting love from atelier areti

i've posted about atelier areti in the past, the austrian/french sister design duo, each accomplished academics, students of architecture, art history, archaeology and design. today it is their new lighting line that has stopped me in my light loving tracks, the simplicity yet complexity of each piece, i just can't stop looking at them...
the design line exhibits hints at fine sculpture or a nod to a luxury jewelry line, the lights are familiar yet exotic, they are stunning in their own right. simple shape and line, the way they have forced the connectivity of natural forms into something so brilliant is perfection. just saying...enjoy!
