geometric monday diy.

while i'm feeling super artistic this winter season, i thought i'd share a cool diy idea i saw over on weekday carnival's blog, this geometric wall she painted in her home.

what i love, besides how amazing hers turned out, is that anyone, you or i, could emulate the same idea, but create totally new patterns and implementing totally varied color palettes. first of all: do you like this idea? second: what kind of patterns would you draw out, more simplistic or even more complex? third: would you utilize a similar color palette, soft hued, or would you go more daring & bold?

i think if i was trying this for the first time, i'd keep the pattern simple and maybe go even more subtle with the color palette. how about tones of white, some warmer than others? and all just a shade off from the next? that would be a nice & wintry wall for ya! enjoy...

fitted bedroom wardrobes.

happy monday friends, happy start to a fresh new week! i am thinking alot about how i want my next home to be, how i want it to look. i know one thing...it's going to be a whole lot more organized...

it's been a bit of a long afternoon. i'm coaxing myself out for a late day run for a much needed boost. but as well, this red wooden couch/settee back has injected me with another bit of design energy. how completely stunning is this?

how does this mid~day monday find you? have you been off to a really great, or not so great start? for me, i'm feeling pretty productive yet i think it's just the winter that has me moving at a slower pace than i would like. some days i'm on it, some days i'm procrastinating alot. today, i'm somewhere in between. not bad ;) enjoy the rest of your monday friends!

muse. deconstructed spaces

happy monday friends! this weekend i stumbled upon this site, muse magazin. have you been to visit it yet? it's really chock full of new inspiration. but what i really noticed and what i really loved was the way the site features rather deconstructed spaces. by that i mean that the spaces appear that things, furniture, artwork, just stuff in general has been removed from the spaces, leaving behind, clean environments, lots of gigantic artwork. it's as if they space has been left, well, just perfect.








sometimes we feel the overwhelming need to just go ahead and fill spaces, every inch, every bit of wall or table space. sometimes i think spaces are perfectly just left alone, to their own devices, to just featuring a fabulous piece you've brought in, a couch, unique chairs, or as in many of these, amazing artworks. sometimes you have to just stop and leave the spaces alone. deconstruct them.

how was your weekend? mine was relaxing and inspiring. i'm ready for the week ahead, for course work, for tons of reading and for getting productive things done and done well! i hope your monday is starting off with a positive glow. enjoy!

i'm somewhere between wanting to get a million and one things done and plunking on the couch and picking up a really good book where i left off. what do you do on days like these? do you shift your energy one way or the other? i'd love to hear!

we are up and cooking yummy leftovers for breakfast. swedish nisu bread & eggs and twice baked potatoes from christmas dinner (which were incredibly fattening but oh so good!).

wow, as i plug away today on final revisions of a paper for one of my classes, i thought to myself, if this was my work environment today, with all of that light, with all of that green, somehow, my head might feel a little less cluttered and filled with a little more clarity and creativity. but alas, back to my kitchen table. ;)
