watching much of the footage of his passing this past weekend, i was naively unaware of the true & immense impact that muhammad ali had, on the world really, outside of boxing. i had to post this. one of what seems like so many tiny moments in which his unique personality shines through and steals the show.
every now and then there are people you watch or people that you know, who are different. they are somehow other than just plain human beings who have accomplished more than most, or who are known to more than most. there is something you feel just being near them or seeing them, or hearing them speak that stops you, that sends that message that they were meant to shake the world up a little...
and as powerful as muhammad ali was, as powerful and present his image was, (even in design) it will somehow be all that more powerful and special now. as powerful as he was as an orator, his words appear more powerfully memorable now...

this quote by ali stopped me this weekend. thoughtful & provocative. like he was. "impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. impossible is not a fact. it’s an opinion. impossible is not a declaration. it’s a dare. impossible is potential. impossible is temporary. impossible is nothing.”
enjoy this thought today.
