michael anastassiades launched his own design studio in 1994 setting out to position his work somewhere between design and fine art. his line of lighting is what stopped me...
michael states that "he creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian and almost mundane yet full of vitality one might not expect." sometimes it's the most simplest of shapes, a circle, a rectangle or a mix of curious materials that clinches a particular design. don't you think? sometimes it's best not to over think design.
michael's work is hardly without provocative thought. but in the end, what he seems to do best, is clear away all of the complicated thinking and tinkering that goes into a design. and leaves you with a clear and simply beautiful product. enjoy!
