going....

to tennessee! to visit with my dad. my dad was born and raised there and i visit him there often. it's just for a long weekend really but some time is better than none. we'll drink plenty of wine, take in his new koi pond, eat biscuits and gravy and have great conversation. can't wait.

so...since i won't be able to post thursday or friday, here are things i may have posted about.

i wanted to do a blog shout out, telling you all about purple area's blog, unless you already visit her blog. her name is susann larsson and she is located in sweden.

her blog is always chock full of interior design inspiration and is a must visit for a fresh boost of color, white spaces and crispy clean environments. i'm very drawn to her selection of spaces she features and find her style to be chic, classic, elegant and fun all rolled into one.

and...lest we forget fashion friday? no way!
top shop, located in the uk is a women's' clothing site i discovered through anne's blog the city sage.

from fun vintage sequine beret hats...

to cool fall wraps and hooded cozy coverups.

for glitz...for glam.

light fall sweaters or cool, end of the summer coverups.

are you in need of a cute skirt?

and one of my favorite fall accessories, leggings galore.

enjoy purple area, enjoy top shop and enjoy your weekend everyone! see you all back here on monday morning :)

feeling beachy.

even after washing towels that have been to the beach, they retain that crisp, clean smell. one of my favorite smells in all the world. what a fun towel holder this is for a porch or bath house. from at west end. yeah for summer!

i'm imagining the sounds cast from this capiz and bamboo chime from at west end.

perfect conch planters from at west end.

how amazing are these beach ball lights from toby house? can you even imagine? :)

this rug is summer stunning. flowing, cool, soft and of course very beachy...from loomah. one of my favorite rugs i've seen in quite some time.

how super summer-y is this pretty wallpaper and vinyl decals from missprint. they also offer pillows, lampshades and categories of gorgeous wallpaper.

i just smiled when i saw these light pots and planters from bloom holland. such a fabulous concept for outdoor lighting as well as functional...holding beautiful topiaries, plants or trees.

you guys can tell that i'm loving summer and don't want it to end. well, no panic there is still a bunch of summer left to enjoy for a while. just thought i'd share some beachy inspiration while the glow of sun and sand is on my mind.

we've been partaking of the beach when we can, especially since we live in such a gorgeous area for beaches, cape cod. do you have a favorite of the pieces i've featured today? i have to say that wave rug is up there on my list of wants, needs and desires. hope your tuesday is plugging along. if not, daydream of the beach why don't you? :) enjoy!

fashion friday. MiME vintage. (on e-bay!)

as you all know...i feature fashion friday, well, on fridays of course! today the find is vintage.
MiME's motto: "we are attitude collectors, art lovers, retro futurists, very close friends & 2 big fans of cosmos. we collect unique and inspiring vintage clothing & other goods fr hk/china, japan, korea, portugal, france..we d like to share our collection & creation w you. NEW finds are coming soon! HAVE FUN!"

so...if you are a lover of all things vintage like me, or even a few things vintage, MiME's sites are a must see. they have an e-bay site here, and a flickr site here.

we all should really just hold on to all of our current trends in hopes that they too will be vintage finds one day...if only we all had the room! there is a softness with these vintage dresses, a femininity, a womanly, romantic feel. sometimes sexy is not about showing tons of skin, but about elegance, how you wear something, how it makes you feel. i know these dresses would make me smile, feel pretty and beautiful while wearing them.

MiME's prices are super reasonable too, most of these dresses are between $40.00-$60.00. so to get you modern hands on some vintage finds, that's not a bad deal don't you think? it's friday friends :) what are you up to this weekend? i'm taking my son to see tony bennett before he stops singing altogether and have him witness a true gentlemen singer. should be super fun. see you back here monday morning! enjoy.

bagno sasso. rendezvous with exclusivity.

the most amazing wooden tubs...yes i said wooden. get ready to be amazed!

"the OCEAN sailor bathtub model is one of the youngest products from bagno sasso’s hotbed of creative design. this free-standing bathtub, which is made from unique wood and resembles the patterns of a zebra, is a true feast for the eyes. the individual veneers are cut to the exact millimetre, and with the utmost precision, placed onto a structure. each tub is crafted by hand, making it utterly unique."

"the tub LAGUNA spa confidently represents a unique product from the LAGUNA range. the administered technology, above all, is exceptional, and ensures the creation of a remarkable structure of wood. without a doubt, the elaborate overflow prevention technology at the edge of the tub is the highlight of this model. a narrow gravel bed surrounds this special tub model, making the LAGUNA spa a true eye-catcher."

"to its perfect design, the tub transforms every bathroom into a true haven of well-being, where one can completely switch off and relax. this free-standing unit of art work does not allow any more size alteration, and a drainage/overflow prevention system cannot be incorporated either. this free-standing model boasts a creation of wood and glass, combined to create a unique combination, making the WAVE diamond tub a particularly superior model."

"bagno sasso was founded in 1995 by former bicycle pro and world championship participant, rolf senti. the company, whose existence spans 14 years, developed from humble beginnings to an internationally-active company in the planning and equipping of exclusive baths and spa furnishings. recently, the company has also managed to gain a foothold in product design. its products are distributed worldwide, whereby some products are distributed through licensing."

ok, so maybe they are based out of zurich, and for most of us zurich is a bit far to go. but if you have the wherewithall residentially or commercially to order one of these magnificant tubs from bagno sasso...then zurich is probably not an issue. you'll just want one right? are you a tub person or shower? i do love tubs when i can find the time to really enjoy it, otherwise i'm in the shower. if i could get my bathtub deprived little hands on one of the bagno sasso tubs, i'm thinking i'd find the time :) enjoy!

photography feature. sicoactiva.

ok, so it's been a hectic start to my week and i'm running on 3 hours sleep, my fault completely, having stayed until the end of a very long red sox game in boston last night. waiting through a brawl, managers getting ejected, rain delays, you name it, it happened at the game last night. but how fun is all that? :)

so...to chill out a bit today i'm posting about a flickr site called sicoactiva that i found and found intriguing. sicoactiva's the name and because of a bit of a language barrier, i can't really give you more information about his or her site other than the fact the photography is fun, unusual, artistic and romantic.

after visiting sicoactiva's flickr site, you'll notice a link to their website or you can click here to view more of their work. i hope to learn more about the artist and will post once i do. how's that? but think of displaying sicoactiva's work in your commercial or residential space, especially the genius use of polaroids telling a story of sorts. actually i would love to see these as a large scale wall panel in a commercial or residential space and backlit. i just love that. what do you think? how is your week going? slow and easy or hectic but good? enjoy!

new from cb2.

"skylines. urban landscape outlines high-rise life in charcoal on white with energetic pops of bright yellow. slubby white canvas with oversized power grommets in rustproof brass." we have been sort of plain jane's with our shower curtains lately and this stopped my and made me smile, thought it would be a fun way to mix it up in your bathroom.

there is something about the design of dandelions that always makes my head turn. i'm not a huge fan of having all of my dinnerware match (mine is completely eclectic china from my travels to flea markets, antique stores etc.) but this line is so awfully pretty don't you think?

i love this bright & cheery little nightstand table. and the bauhaus arc floor lamp also the "lubi" daybed with it's stacked double mattress sleeps as a twin. the top half can be taken off and placed on the floor next to the bottom to create a double bed. hmmm...fun for a guest room or a child's room :)

"bao wow. chinatown red resin couple uphold books and domestic integrity. male lion asserts paw on ball, guarding condo or loft. female nuzzles single cub under paw symbolizing protection for those who reside inside."

"red hot. hi-gloss white hemisphere surprises with bright red interior. very 70s scandinavian. iron shade suspends from white cord reinforced with metal cable."

"baby bloomers. welded cast aluminum sculpture radiates 19 mini vases for a domed bouquet of small blossoms. watertight interior sealed with silver paint. intriguing object sans petals, too."

"a pinch retro. mod stoneware vessels taper bright in pure 1960s form. pillars rise inch by pinch to slim rectangular opening. small yellow and tall orange are watertight for fresh arrangements."

"love in. frayed indigo denim and layered mini metallic sequins groove in peaceful harmony on beige hopsack weave of 100% cotton."

just got my new cb2 mag in the mail a day or two ago. and while i wouldn't want to decorate my whole home with cb2 product a piece or two here and there are definitely super fun. i'm always attempting to keep spaces a bit fun, reminding us to breathe, and not take each day quite so serious. and that's not to say you can't have a home full of beautiful, expensive antiques, art, collectors items and of course, all of that is quite serious. but...throw that "peace" pillow on that expensive antique couch, drape that bauhaus arc lamp over a high priced living room set to whisper hey "i'm fun too"! right? are you with me? good! happy tuesday. been a busy start to my week, but all positive things going on. i'll fill you in on my ventures this week :)

i'm super drawn to their fun tights with fall coming next. i love wearing a not-so-flashy-outfit, and throwing everyone off with very intriguing tights. they seem to give any outfit a fun kick. :) i wore a pair of super sheer tights one day to the market and they were lightly tie-dyed and a gentleman actually came up to me and asked if my legs were tattooed. can you imagine a tie-dyed tattoo, so funny! take what you like out of looklet but have some serious fun. hey it's friday, you should have fun right?! we are beaching it again on sunday, trying to get out fix of the ocean and sand before the seasons change for a while around here. what are your plans? enjoy yourselves!
