i have literally packed ALOT away lately and am living sparsely and just sort of more calmly. and loving it. as far as your living spaces, what do you need to come home to? to shake off a work day or all of the stresses that come with any random day at times? maybe you crave color? or warm woods galore? or pattern and texture? i'd love to hear!

quiet & communal.

i'm starting my day out in a quiet way. no running today. sipping coffee slower. a being good to myself kind of morning. and so, i'm attracted to these quiet & communal spaces and places. i could exist in any one of them today...

building is the name of the company. they are based in japan. and in a woodworking shop near tokyo, they build, by hand, fundamental furniture...

the clean lines, the unfinished wood and how it was manipulated are the highlight of each piece, these in their own right are wow pieces. without the bells and whistles, without cutting edge this or new technology that. they are what they are, magnificent design. enjoy!

great spaces.

the spaces we spend time in, that we interact in, that we choose to be in are important. and spaces that offer a communal experience, of sharing, interacting and being with others is equally important, and special.

today, this friday (happy friday by the way!) i think that these 2 spaces are special, they offer an invitational experience, a warmth, an "it's ok to stay a while or linger" sense of space and place. i love that. what is your favorite communal space in your home? i'd love to hear...enjoy!

functionals tables.

i think that these are clever. these functionals t-tables offered up by functionals. with their sturdy metal tops, rubber stops at the leg bases and matte finish (so that you can place them outside as well without sun glare!), offer a cozy yet industrial feel to spaces, indoors or out.

i am very drawn to distinctive and unique furniture (as well as classic and vintage pieces to mix it up in your spaces.) but newer pieces, pieces that incorporate shape, pattern, a bold aesthetic, those are the ones that are your wow pieces. wow pieces are a good great thing my friends. enjoy!
