someware goods.

every now and then you stumble on one of those sites where it's the simple things, where less is more, where culture is seen through objects, and it's all about easy meets artisanal...
someware goods is one of those sites. they feature hand-made product from craftspeople, and from all around the world. care is taken & artistic license is taken. i love this line, straight off of someware good's site: "the best living spaces cultivate a lifestyle that takes simple pleasures seriously." enough said, right?

i'm featuring them today because they have a great sale going on for your christmas shopping! (the sale ends at midnight today!) the site is chock full of great gift ideas...just saying! enjoy...

have a great weekend!!

it's the day after thanksgiving, it's friday and it's almost the weekend, what more could we ask for?
(via)
i hope that you all enjoyed your holiday...are you hitting the stores today? this weekend? ooooh not me, not a over the top crowd type of girl. the chaos of christmas shopping does not appeal to me, at all.

it's raw, rainy, and windy in my part of the world. i think i'll be in my flannel shirt and socks most of the day ;) enjoy!

happy thanksgiving!

i took a drive the other day, to where the seals are...
(images, mine)
it's one of my favorite places on earth. there is something about this place, and i swear, even the seals know it too.

i hope that you are enjoying a quiet morning (i just got back from a walk to the beach with hot coffee, yes!) and that your thanksgiving day is delicious and relaxing. enjoy and happy thanksgiving!

color inspiration: tangerine.

(1,2)
what about you? are you a lipstick wearer? would you consider a tangerine color palette? it just seems super fun for fall...enjoy!

meetings.

what does the way in which you set up a meeting, the ways in which you design a meeting say?
and so here's another question...can the atmosphere surrounding a meeting actually change the outcome of the meeting? interesting & provocative to consider.

i was in a number of meetings yesterday. and i'm not sure if it's me, but i take in my surrounding immediately, no matter where i land. it affects me, it moves me and it can also sort of deflate me or leave me feeling non-productive and off in general. does that happen to you? the italian company design you edit is offering up these "twiss on beam chairs" and a whole plethora of other amazing office furniture, the kind that can, i actually think, change the outcome of a meeting.

design you edit offers inspirational furniture, if furntiture can be inspirational. (which i think it can!) the company was "born" in 2012 and by 5 partners all with entreprenurial and managerial experience. their mission, they state, is to "provide inspirations and improve aspirations." see, having a meeting within a particular environment, surrounded by particular pieces of furniture (even really cool chairs like these) says something, it sends upbeat, positive, go gettem' slants and energy and we all need that people! just saying....enjoy!

a serious sideboard.

the belgian design team jo-a is truly making some amazing furniture, have a look at just their sideboard alone. one of the most beautiful i've seen. seriously...
jo-a describes their line as "functional, beautiful, and emotional." really it is. but the craftsmanship is dominant, the attention to material, space, line and overall design is prominent and important.

and if you think that this sideboard is something, you should see the stairs! enjoy...

monday & green cloud planters.

the really fun spanish company systemtronic is offering up these green cloud planters in white. i want them in bunches...
they are so very stark and exceptional in white especially contrasting against rich & intense greens. so simple. so perfect really.

i managed to clear my little deck this weekend of a small set of summer furniture i had been using (this against every bone in my i never want summer to end body) and replaced it with a brand new planter and tall shrub. i then strung lights on it and stated out loud i think, ok, i'm ready for the holiday season. which really means i'm trying to brace myself for cold, grey days for months on end because i live in new england. like i said, bring on the holiday season! enjoy...

p.s. a look at my new planter.

these colors.

i'm drawn to these colors today, pinks and reds, soft and stark, mixed with calm blues, lovely...
(via)
it's funny how color palettes, from one day to the next can move you or inspire you or motivate you somehow. not sure how that happens but i'm going with it.

how is your week going friends? i'm off to boston today to see him, here. can't wait. plus it's a picture perfect fall day in my part of the world. i hope that your day is positive and creative and yeah. enjoy!

2 seats, 3 views.

these 2 seating styles already have me wishing for summer to hurry up and get back here...
full of ratan and wickerwork, full of fantastic design and offered up by the spanish company expormim. the top seat is from expormim's "nautica" collection. the company states that what they've attempted to do here is "recover and rethink ratan use." love it!

the second seat is from expormim's "tina" line. expormim equates wickerwork to "language of hands," that it's a universal technique in a sense and thus spoken worldwide. expormim takes wicker and adapts it to this very organic shape, like a wave, like the wind...ok am i getting too deep and introspective about seating? maybe. but you have to admit, they're pretty darn cool. enjoy!
