what about you on this fashion friday? any must haves for fall clothes this year? have you made a recent purchase that you are completely thrilled with? as for me, i'm still searching for the perfect high pair of leather or pleather boots. i'll find it eventually. enjoy your fashion friday, enjoy your upcoming weekend and we'll see you right back here soon :)

bart halpern fabrics. warm and cozy.

i am positively in love with this space. jaw dropping gorgeous space. as the air is cooling here in new england, i'm being drawn indoors and craving, warm, heavy color and plush fabrics to surround myself in.

my couch at home is surely soft enough, but i'd jump at the chance of beefing it up with luxurious fabrics from bart halpern, no questions asked. those velvets, those color palettes. rich, cozy and timeless. bart designs for many hotel chains but can you just imagine taking an old piece and transforming it for your home with any of his fine fabrics? oh...i can. and the 5th photo from the top, he's added a suede to the walls as a custom wall treatment. for extra added luxury. yummy.
enjoy ogling these warm fabrics if you are out there on this chilly day too! :)

feeling felty.

today upon waking the news said it was 39 degrees. yeah that's right. i'm sort of not ready for those temperatures yet. not quite yet. not that i have any control over this you see. but i do have control over getting cozy and warm and i also have a love for felt. the options for designing and decorating with felt are many...

urchin poufs by flocks. sprinkle them around any space, a children's room, a casual family living room, the choices are endless and fun. "hand knit using strong wool from new zealand crossbred sheep".

there are so many fabulous felted wall panels out there right now, with many eye popping patterns cut into them, offering not only sound proofing to your space but that much needed element of texture. these by selina rose i just...love!

this hanging woolzily light is simply stunning. "light shines through multiple layers of one twining woollen thread – like a hidden source of brightness gleaming trough dark thicket. the gaze follows the line winding around at a stretch and pierces the lamp through apertures of differing sizes. the turbulent woollen surface creates a soft light for a snug and calm atmosphere. though the concept is simple, the shape is complex."

the soft wall by b&b italia.
"soft wall is a wall for defining, dividing and storing is a soft, functional, sculpture-like piece at the same time. a soft, functional, sculpturelike piece, soft wall is the ideal solution for defining, dividing and storing. designed to accommodate the objects we need only from time to time (which would otherwise take up space on small tables, on shelves and in containers). how fabulous also as a room divider, possibly in a children's room or your home office?

high or low thick wool felt armchairs by cassina. could you just sink right in? oh yeah...

stack your favorite design mags with this felt-upholstered steel plated holder by materia. offering strong graphic expression, this is not your average magazine rack.

looking for a conversation piece for your commercial or residential space? well you've got it with this two-tone felt cappellini peacock chair.

how fun would these felt rocks by molo be in a child's room to surround yourself with and play? soft rocks, so pretty too.

are you able to stay in and cozy today? not me, i'm off to paint at a friends house, then off to classes later. it was hard getting out of my warm covers this chilly morning. but being surrounded by any or all of these felt pieces and they would surely lure me out. enjoy!

contemporary bungalow.

tons to do on this very gray day today, so i was drawn to these bright, breathable spaces to get me started. this space, while contemporary and modern and a bit stark, surely grabs at space, surrounds it and encloses it for your pleasure.

photos by vercruysse frederik and found here.
the bright colors throughout sort of make up for the lack of furnishings and beautiful giant amounts of space, keeping it both warm and a bit fun.
what are you up to today? i have a paper to write and reading for classes. enjoy your tuesday and hoping you had the day off yesterday too, to breathe and relax. :)

ascension and fashion friday.

while everyone is trying to be a bit more "green", in their designing, purchasing and in their day to day living, well, so is ascension. their philosophy is simple: "to bring you the most inspiring selection of fashion and lifestyle products made beautifully, made fairly and wherever possible made from organic materials."

"our collections celebrate the finest artisanal skills (and fair of course), the best quality organic cottons and sustainable bamboo. teamed with ageless, contemporary designs, they are living proof that you can unite great eco credentials and great style."
i picked and chose pieces i liked and you should too. based out of england ascension's eclectic line is reasonably priced and has some fun lines. definitely worth a look. like those button boots above, how fabulous are those?
weekend plans everyone? hmmm, we are in the middle of a big painting project (i wish it was designed based, but just plain ol' painting) so we'll keep plugging away at that to finish up. in between maybe a dinner out and catching up on more homework reading. it never ends, but fun. enjoy!

up the stairs, down the stairs and out the door.

i don't have stairs at home. we live in a rented cute little 2 bedroom cottage (for now.) if i did have stairs in my home, i'd relish ascending and descending any of these. they would gladly welcome me home from a long day, or whisper "hey, have a great day!" on my way out the door.

all pictures found via living etc.

today is busy, i'm painting at a friends home today, cleaning out the car this morning, and then possible cramming a run in somewhere in between. if i could run down the stairs this morning and head out the door, i'd descend staircase number 1. how about you? are you running this morning or relaxing? wherever you're off to, enjoy!
