green but not necessarily green.

i like these "green" pots offered up by authentics. and though they are made of polypropylene, and are green, you certainly can pick pink. or purple....how pretty would they be as a valentine's day gift with say a miniature rose plant or a favorite flowering plant of that special person? right?
i like doing things differently. especially when it comes to the holidays. and valentine's day is no different. sure you can buy the standard bouquet. nothing wrong with that. but sometimes putting a little more thought into a gift makes that gift seem a whole lot bigger some how, don't you think?

happy monday by the way...how was your weekend? my son heads back to college today, but i've sure enjoyed feeding him, exchanging funny videos & new music videos with him and listening to him improv about certain situations i bring up, to the point of having me in tears cracking up in the car. good times. enjoy!

patchwork.

crazy beautiful chock full of color & pattern "dream sequence" lookbook by madam peripetie...
i've always loved the look of mixing patterns, textures & color palettes on purpose. and don't get me wrong, i love the neutrals, the greys and blacks any day of the week. but this is fun...this is REALLY fun...enjoy!

how incredibly beautiful is this wallpaper line offered up by de gournay? it's mesmerizing really...
it's one design in de gournay's korean/japanese collection. this is truly one of the most captivating wall treatments i've seen in some time. just saying...enjoy!

happy friday friends!

blowing a bunch of kisses to you this friday!
(via)

this has felt like a looooooooong week, at least for me! i hope that you too are looking forward to some down time too. i feel as if i've had a TON of ideas in my head, to the point of waking up early and planning things, creating things, seeing the future of things, ideas, in my head. it's all good, but every now and then i'd like to just turn my brain off and chiiiiiilllll. being creative can be a blessing and a curse sometimes, because you never seem to shut things off. i'll try this weekend! enjoy yourself, wherever you are, whatever your doing...

yonoh wall lights.

yonoh is a spanish design studio. and they are making some pretty spectacular wall lights...
i do have to say, i'm not a huge fan of wall mounted lights. i'm not sure why really except that they remind me too much of corporate or commercial settings, on some level. but these "pleg" lights (offered up by lzf, here) made from bent polywood veneer...are pretty eye capturing.

the shades are available in 11 different wood veneer finishes/colors. i think i'm drawn to the more neutral/natural shades, but the colors are tempting as well...enjoy!

scotch & soda.

so i just want these today...these vintage pieces for sale on scotch & soda...
scotch & soda scours the globe, coming up with unique furniture finds...and they're all available exclusively on line. their inventory changes out often. but today, if i could shop to my heart's content...i would pick up all of these beauties! what would you pick? enjoy...

the diamond house.

i really enjoy featuring architects/architecture from time to time on this blog. this "diamond house," a renovated residence in spain, by abis arquitectura stopped me this afternoon...
i thought it was stunning by day...until i saw it by night, with that skyline behind it? aaaaaaamazing. just some afternoon architecture eye candy for ya. enjoy!

rebecca atwood.

i was in a book store the other day, flipping through very expensive design magazines and came across rebecca atwood's pillows, textiles and artwork. and then i read that her inspiration for them came from her upbringing on cape cod...
so her choice of patterns, textures, color palette combinations became clearer to me. we've walked the same beaches, been surrounded by the same winds and waters.

rebecca is now brooklyn based but the history is still there, of what she's seen, felt and remembered about cape cod. a beautiful place. and inspiring beautiful pillows. she also keeps a really great and current blog, with fabulous sketchbook drawings where she plays around with pattern ideas, ideas that inspire her to create her next piece, or product. check it out here. and enjoy!

hello i'm...

i've been talking to alot of people lately, in different professions, who are on their way to conferences/conventions. wouldn't this be fun to write on your name tag should you be issued one?
(via)
it would certainly make for interesting introductions. just saying...enjoy!

bivaq's outdoor collection.

ok, so i'm doing it again, day dreaming over summer (or at least spring) and summer furniture...
2 summer's ago i was asked by a home owner, a home owner of a very lovely home, to bring in their outdoor furniture line while they left my part of the world for another part of the world. they would be gone all winter. the line was gorgeous, but made of teak. so....heavy.

and while teak is usually the choice of outdoor woods, for their look, their sustainability etc. they're just plain heavy. this is a refreshing line of outdoor furniture offered up by bivaq. aluminum base, removable painted polyester pads (suitable to stay outdoors year round!), high and low versions of seating as well as a lounge line. the cushions are made of a vinytex fabric, a combination of polyester and PVC compound. so mold or mildew would have a hard fight here.

so as i peruse outdoor and garden lines of furniture, as i daydream of summer, i also dream of luxury and refined qualities, but with a little more ease...and a little lighter! enjoy.

bold, in bone.

this afternoon, i'm loving the bold and unique material that leah singh uses in her geometric jewelry line...bone.
(via)
leah utilizes bone from india, molding it, shaping it into spectacular and original pieces. there is something so stunning about the starkness, smoothness and quality of bone. leah singh brings that out in her line of necklaces, earrings and bracelets. i want one of each! enjoy...

i like these shapes today.

happy monday friends! sometimes you just don't know why you are drawn to certain shapes or combinations of shapes. but this morning, i'm drawn to these...
(via)
maybe they inspire you to design or to begin a painting. or maybe you just like them. like me. like today. enjoy!
