do you need this...?

how about this fun and unusual vinyl wall treatment? hmmm, i'm starting to eyeball a couple of walls.

do you need these impressive candle holders? i do.

how about this? what a great little bistro set, i'm actually considering purchasing something like this for outside of my shop for the summer.

how about this gorgeous, bumpy chair? sans the beautiful little girl of course.

this interesting take on shelving?

do you need this fabulous clump of neon lights, light?

i happened upon urban living through the fabulous blog "purple area". urban living is based out of sweden and is filled with action packed fun for your residential or commercial spaces. eclectic, hip, edgy and a bit daring, urban living will tempt you to funk it up a bit. even if you just grab one piece, one accessory. i love sites like this, they remind us to smile and don't take life so serious. seriously! enjoy! (i have a big final tomorrow so i'm keeping this post short and sweet...wish me luck!) :)

make a statement.

all images via.
when transforming a residential or commercial space, i believe it's fun to make a statement. to throw a curveball into each space, so that each space that you enter has something to say. whether you make your statement softly or boldly,i think rooms are more interesting with some key fabric, or color or fixture that says something about you.

maybe your room is primarily neutral but you've placed a daring rug, spiced up lampshades or incorporated an eclectic variety of pillows or bold lighting to interrupt that space in a positive way.

i found some versions of making a statement that i thought were fun, and all so very different. how do you make a statement? is it with wall treatments? patterns? texture? pillows? paint? or do you collect objects to display? tell me your thoughts, i'd love to hear what you find inspiration in and how you choose to make your statement. enjoy!

have a seat...at twenty twenty one.

i have found this seating heaven called twenty twenty one, through my current issue of dwell magazine which i look forward to each month. i'm sure to find...well new finds in each issue. with that being said, twenty twenty one is based out of london, featuring furniture, lighting and accessories by inspirational 20th and 21st century designers.

working with commercial as well as residential customers, twenty twenty one sources "good design for professional designers." and these are just a few of the many loungers they offer, and only one of the many categories on their site to scroll through. their site is as interesting as their product. i enjoyed my perusing and here's hoping you also enjoy the tour through this seating heaven! enjoy & happy friday my blog buddies :)

hzl by henzel.

thank you to henzel for allowing me to share their photos and beautiful rugs with you!
hzl by henzel, based out of sweden will have your head spinning over their rugs. "hzl is dedicated to setting and publishing current trends. our rugs have a striking appearance and are often referred to as works of art." henzel's rugs are made with 100% new zealand wool, the best for rug making. created for the higher end residential and commercial community, henzel rugs are jaw dropping. edgy, racy works of art. very much into custom design, henzel can work with you or your company to design a rug using your existing art or can work with designers, architects and artists to compose the special and unique rug that matches your space and your style.

henzel says, "expect endless possibilities". i love that slogan. enjoy!

merchant no. 4.

paper mache "point vessels". "the drama and glamour of gold leaf collides with the lightness and accessibility of papier-mache in the gold point vessel. a gray interior keeps things calm in this fun little object." (these are my favorite)!

i found these "molecule dishes" intriguing. "molecule is part of the 'setcast' collection designed by London design firm, voonwong&bensonsaw. the dish comes in three sizes and makes for a wonderful condiment display or storage dish. setcast is handmade bone china, created at Chinas most distinguished china manufacturer, asianera."

ceramic and rubber dip cups. "chicago-based artist, up in the air somewhere, has created these gorgeous earthenware cups that are hand-dipped in yellow rubber. they are available in Gray or White food-safe glaze. each cup is handmade and unique."

hand soap, literally. a pair. cleverly created by marie gardeski, and are sized to a standard bar of soap, although nothing standard about these. made of goats milk and glycerin with a light scent. cute as a button.

2 sizes of their gold lipped bowls. un even lip to the platters that are gorgeous when stacked. stain sealed and glazed for a food safe surface.

merchant no. 4 is filled with hard to find, every day, works of art from a variety of designers. from the new york times to metropolitan life to "o" at home magazine, the news is spreading about merchant no. 4's wares.

i was immediately drawn to their dreamy, stark white pieces trimmed and touched with gold, just exquisite. i adore simplicity in design over complicated and somewhat messy designs. the "point vessels" in orange in gold are reminiscent of large cracked eggs or perhaps beautiful stones that have been broken to reveal what is in store on the inside. enjoy merchant no. 4's products and don't forget there is more on their site (even a sale link! :)

odds and ends.

for all you vintage polaroid junkies out there, how about a polaroid mirror? a clever take on the ol' polaroids. via.
designer colin o'dowd.

white honeycomb lamp. just fun. via.

livin' up your dinner parties with these sleek fin salt and pepper shakers! via.

this unusual, but exceptional design by rick ivey for modern objects of beauty. "a nice departure on the standard cabinet for storing and displaying your book collection. the strong form is stunning empty but when filled with books becomes compelling and dense, flattering the graphic design of the books spines and peeking covers, transforming something that is usually storage into sculpture. these totems are a serious shrine to the book."

i couldn't help myself, these made me smile. mustash dressers. it's just that i haven't seen mustash dressers before...have you? :) via.

i'm enjoying lots of little genius things right now and wanted to share. just when you think you've seen it all whether in the 'green movement' or with designers in both interior design or fashion, someone one-up's the other. that keeps it fun though! so here are a few items i've been sifting through in my bopping around on line. enjoy!
