new patterns. from gaston y daniela.

ooooh, perfect for a wednesday morning get going. the fabrics & wallpapers as of late and offered up by gaston y daniela have me dreaming of refinishing, refurbishing, re-papering, everything in site!
they're classic, they're jazzy, they're full of elegance and fun. all at once. and i love that! find more fabulous new patterns from gaston y daniela, here.

what are you up to this mid~week wednesday? i'm cramming beyond words for a final in my summer graduate course. like mad i tell you! but the end of the course is in site, and in between that and the fall start up of even more courses (i have 3 to finish my master's) i plan on reading a bunch of whatever i want, staring out at the ocean with nothing on my mind but the sound of it, and going to bed late and sleeping in. that's in my near future my friends!

i hope this wednesday is starting off with a bang for you, an energetic bang ;) enjoy...

another fun fashion deviation. enjoy!

bark is beautiful. & very british.

this tuesday i wanted to share a fab new find, very british, very bespoke & very beautiful. trained as classic cabinetmakers, husband and wife team jonathan walter & lakshmi bhaskaran of bark classify their work as playful yet confident, inspired by the bold period of the mid-century modern era and the atlantic surf which surrounds them. and as you can see, they understand furniture.
myself, i also see elements of scandinavia, shaker, and definitely the 1960's-1970's-esque styles, (ok, so i'm dating myself). i love that bark's pieces are easy on the eyes, adapting to any space, residential or commercial in an unobtrusive way. they're quiet yet flirty.

how is your tuesday starting out? i'm taking my son today for his learner's permit. so......that means fun waiting at the registry, and you know what i mean. ;) i hope your day is creative and inspiring, enjoy!

plywood. raw.

there is something kind of cool, kind of old school, kind of raw and simple about this extra long, plywood dining table top. what do you think?
it caught my eye over on emma's design blog. just saying. just sharing. enjoy!

rich. brilliant. willing.

happy monday friends! i hope your weekend was amazing...i wanted to share the crazy beautiful lighting (oh, and their side/coffee tables too!) offered up by rich brilliant willing. and by the way, how fabulous is their name?
rich brilliant willing's lights are inspired by rooftop vents & propulsion systems. the super industrial, modular parts paired against elements of nature, as in their line of "branch" lights (featured in photo #3) make for an interesting aesthetic. their "russian doll" coffee/side tables, (displayed in photo #4) feature aluminum asymmetric panels with leather gaskets (& some with tempered glass tops) are just plain "i could think of a million things to do with these" tables. yeah. so....have a look at more of rich brilliant willing, here.

have a great start to this fresh new week! i'm madly preparing for a final in one of my graduate courses. then looking (crazy) forward to a few weeks of uninterrupted pleasure reading and swimming in the ocean...enjoy!

picasso inspired. sunday lovely.

see more of this amazing home here. such a perfect setting for a quiet sunday evening. i hope your weekend has been everything you hoped it was. i'm meeting a friend for a glass of wine and can't wait to breathe and visit with her for a while. bye for now, enjoy!

marco stefanelli & happy weekend!

so.......i'm getting late start on saying happy weekend friends!, so here it is then...yeah for the weekend ;) and yeah for this fab new find (at least new to me) of marco stefanelli and his reclaimed wood pieces lit with led lights, evoking a mysterious, dreamy approach to lighting a space.
stefanelli takes hold of scrap woods, from sawmills and a variety of other sources, occupies them with a mix of resin and led lights, almost exposing the light, as if it's supposed to be hidden and not discovered, but by the tiniest of luck, a sliver of a crack has opened and offers up a sneak peek at what's inside.

these stools/tables/seats are really just so interesting, they're striking really. the mixed medium of the wood, the resin, the light, the sensationally soft gold cracks oozing out of this tough, rough wood certainly makes for a conversation piece, in either a residential or commercial space. don't you think?

what are your weekend plans friends? i'd love to hear! i'm determined to get into the ocean today, itching for a summer swim, bigtime! to cleanse, to make me smile, to just make me feel soooo good. the ocean does that for me. i'm back from a night at foxwoods with my sister. i used to laugh at the thought of spending a day at one of the indian casinos like foxwoods. i used to think that it seemed like a complete waste of time (and money of course) but after a night of slot machines, and becoming slightly mesmerized by the darn things, i kind of get the attraction now. they're just plain fun (now and then anyway) ;) enjoy your saturday friends!!

this, santa monica home. afternoon gorgeous.

this afternoon, i'm head over heels for this santa monica home, featured on old brand new's blog. the light, all of those caramel colors, the way it's so easily styled, just all of it. it's move in ready comfortable...

so, i'm planted behind my computer today. working on a final paper for my summer course. but it's cloudy out (it's been a cloudy lately! tough on summer plans!) so that makes for better stay in the house and get to work on things you would otherwise put off for being in the summer sunshine. i hope you are outside, in the sun, and enjoying this last month of real summer sun. enjoy...

wednesday greens.

this wednesday morning, how lovely is it to wake and contemplate the placement of all of these lovely greens featured over at miss moss's blog? so lovely, that's what! so let's do it...
are you a plant person? do you find it necessary to have green things, or living plants of any kind around you, whether at home or at work? i do, bigtime! especially cut flowers, somewhere, anywhere, and the wilder the better. better than flowers from the florist. just saying...

i hope your wednesday is already starting off great! mine is. enjoy...
