to end a very hectic summer week, i'm drawn, in a very magnetic way, to these spaces. what i found curious, is that to me, the white is what pops. usually in soft, sort of sterile spaces, it's the color that pops, but not here. it's definitely the white. i love that difference in these spaces. i need white to pop for me this weekend, a little less color, a little more breathable, slow~it~down~spaces. so my choices for this friday post are these wonderful, pops of white. are you needing to slow~it~down? or are you ready to rev it up this weekend? i'd love the hear...enjoy! happy weekend everyone!

things i'm loving from branch.

these felt pebbles, handmade in johannesburg, south africa as part of a job creation program which offers opportunities to local craftswomen, are super fun. i'd fill a very large bowl anywhere in the house with these, or perhaps sprinkle along a mantle or on just any old shelf? i just would want them around, for their color and for their texture.

branch calls this wall treatment "wall tears". at first i wasn't sure i liked it. but after a while of imagining the possibilities, perhaps covering one wall in a dining room, somewhere unexpected like that, i really found that in a nightclub, bar or appropriate restaurant, one centered around water or themed in a similar way, these could really be magical, especially if lit in the right way.

wonderful hand~silk~screened wallpapers by mark giglio. what i love about these wallpaper is their complexity, their color palette and the textural element they would add, even in small doses to any space.

handmade felt pillows and rugs, in gujarat india. bright, easy, perfect for spaces in need of a color punch.


porcelain pendant lights by pigeon toe ceramics. i love the material used to create a fragile, yet strong, warm light. mix and match styles for an interesting clump/chandelier.

these handmade bamboo pendant lights are glorious for a residential or commercial space. at home, perhaps one, hanging very low, next to your bed? or in commercial, line a bar with these overhead for a very soft, romantic glow.

this pink birdie pillow for a girls room? i'd want a whole flock of them, in all different colors!

how adorable are these mr. robot man pillows for a boys room? love these.

in an attempt to "change shopping", branch has set out, offering super sustainable products without losing visual appeal, quality and design in the meantime. products that are "wholly appealing on every level" and provide for guilt~free shopping. how can you lose? ;)

hus & hem. inspiration galore.

thanks to emmas design blog, an amazingly talented blogger and finder of inspiration galore, i happened upon hus & hem, a satisfyingly swedish interior design on line magazine. and i haven't stopped daydreaming and drooling since.














is it me or is swedish design curiously intoxicating? geeez. there is something to be said for sensible mixing with colorful, mixing with economical mixing with extravagant. when it comes to swedish design, every element is there, it works, it sits well, it comforts, it draws us in, to sit, to sleep, to ooh and to aaah. just wanted to share hus & hem with anyone who has not heard of them or visited their site. oh, and by the way, you can translate the site through google too. so...no excuses, head on over. bop around before you head off to sleep. to dream of magnificent spaces, outdoor and indoor. it's in my plan tonight ;) enjoy!

this summer has been busy, busy, busy! for this morning, i'm not here (as in this tranquil & serene space in the photo) but i'm very much wishing i was! tune in later for a fab find, with tons of design inspiration....see you then ;) enjoy your day!

the secret clubhouse, cappellini.

this is what started it for me this morning with cappellini. this crazy, adorable, exotic and playful "secret clubhouse" chair. designed by martin vallin, a very industrial swedish designer. vallin creates "a little world in which to escape". constructed completely of recycled wood and "softened by felt covered cushions." i sooooooooo want one of these. and sort of as a secret clubhouse to hide out...why not?
"produced entirely from multicolor plastic material," this eco fish limited edition chair stopped me in my tracks. i loved the continuous flowing design, the fun~party~~confetti~esque pattern on top. just eye~catching and a wonderful addition to any space, perhaps especially a space that is not at all modern. tossing in a piece like this eco fish chair to throw the whole space off? love. designed by satyendra pakhale.

i'm not a huge "design things in the image of disney" fan. but these stools, a collaboration between cappellini and walt disney did in fact make me smile. i think because they are fun and subtle at the same time. with the ears peeking from behind the stool. designed by nendo, the "flowing lines" the "ribbon stool" this meeting of the minds and design, "create a single iconic representation of the seamless collaboration of cappellini and walt disney." agreed.
look closely, this fabulous seat, designed by patrick norguet is another collaboration between cappellini and walt disney. with it's overlapping silhouette of "mickey" the pattern becomes bold, the color palette daring and this swivel chair becomes a fabulous conversation piece in your home or commercial space.


i was & am very drawn to the very "barnacle" nature and design of these wonderfully soft white ceramic hanging lights from cappellini and designed by marre moerel. imagine clumps and clusters of these lights, super soft light oozing from within. i really am loving these and my imagination is running wild.

this "luxor fluo" console is designed by guilio cappellini. with its "evanescent decoration on the doors", its strategic white bases and aluminum coating, this console will steal the show in any environment.

after you catch your breath, let me know your thoughts on some of these pieces, or is one your favorite? mine might just be that top seat, the secret clubhouse. there is something that brings me between my childhood, building and hiding out in forts in the woods...to my adult years, amazed by talented designers using found or recycled products in the most genius of ways. enjoy!

friday odds, ends and hmmm....s?

this first odds & ends product is a hmmmm? for me anyway. from fiorentino via trendir. this lace lampshade light named "raffaello" by designer rodolfo bianchi is stunning, but is it over the top? or are you thinking "i want, no, i need this lamp"? or are you like, "aahh, no"?


i'm really liking the versatility and the crazy amount of options that these beautiful "feel~thru" panels offer to any space, residential or commercial. from abr produccion and via, 2modern.


how dreamy is this scene? displaying photos of just the sky, the amazing swirly shapes of clouds and the many tones of blue? i love, love, love this idea! via banjolele.

this odds & ends product is a hmmmmm? for me anyway. not sure i love it but could consider it for a kids room maybe? what do you think about color~it~yourself~wallpaper? by nineteenseventythree, via design evolution.

i was recently drawn to these curious ariel photographs from alex maclean, via trends now. how fun would one be placed on a wall, very large of course, anywhere in your home or commercial space? super fun, that's what!


each of these "erosion sinks" is hand made. so as they will be a bit pricey, you'll also have a show stopper of a sink, a very amazing one of a kind conversation piece in your home or commercial space. by gore design co., via better living through design.
