gridlock & gradiences.

hello sunday! hello friends! i'm drawn this morning to the lines and cascading subtle shapes of these two pieces. the gridlock lighting is from artist philippe malouin. the transcience mirrors are from artist david derksen.

malouin describes his work (and these are lights by the way! though he creates tables and shelving as well) in the style of brutalism, the most sensual and tactile form of architecture. ok, love that.

derksen describes his mirror oxidation process as revealing the material transition of silver. the color tones achieved can range from golden brown to purple and blue. ok, love that too!

have a great start to your sunday morning friends...i'm sipping coffee, about to dive into the new york times and getting ready for a relaxing sunday. it's sunny too, so bonus! enjoy...
