retrouvius. you'll wish you were in london.

are you like me, do you love hunting for beautiful chunks of old homes and imagining what you could use them for and where? i could spend all day in places like retrouvius, now i just need to get to england, because that's where they're located :)
metal and neon lettering. even if the neon doesn't work or you don't light them, how fabulous placed on a wall in the right setting. or over a bed? super fun.

are you in need of fire place mantels or perhaps you are renovating a home or space and would like to change the look or dynamic of an already in place mantel. retrouvius is the place, they've got those. this doulton ceramic fire surround is stunning.

a pair of pine pilasters waiting for architectural instructions. i love columns and would pick these up to perhaps frame a bed headboard or even a wall mounted plasma television? so many options with these beautiful pieces.

very stately is this leather backed captains chair.

these white dining chairs, designed by arne jacobseb and made by fritz hansen are true classics. added to dining chairs that you already have would make for an eclectic table setting.

i love the lines of this robin day royal festival hall chair. "designed for the royal festival hall in 1951 these iconic ''658'' chairs are highly collectible and extremely comfortable. made from copper plated steel frame, bent plywood and fabric cushions."

this black slate console table could be put just about anywhere. i see it in my kitchen area stacked with beautiful wine bottles.

how about this polished floor standing anglepoise lamp. so amazing, the design.

imagine the spaces to hang these large grey warehouse lamps, salvaged from an ex-rover factory.

i have antique columns at home, which i've placed in my shop before as well. another love of mine is mantels. i could spend hours searching through salvaged, sculpted, carved and painted mantels. so much more interesting than the newer typical frames for fireplaces. retrouvius is truly a find, for all of us salvage junkies, looking for character and soul in those additions to spaces.

happy day after labor day everyone! i'm off to do some last minute things at my shop and then to help a friend with starting a blog. she was just certified as a yoga instructor and needs a yoga blog. i'll post about it when she finally gets it up and running. enjoy your day!
