polanoid polaroids.

do you have an old polaroid camera? i do, but would need to tune it up, find the film for it and i'd be in business. there are so many fabulous bloggers out there who are still posting with polaroid photos. i love that. the fabulous site, polanoid allows polaroid camera users to upload photos they've taken and display anything and everything. here are a few summery scenes i liked on polanoid's site today :)

the look, the vintage quality they add to the photo, just by being a polaroid. you could take a picture tomorrow with your polaroid and you have instant vintage. it would be special to frame a series of polaroid photos that you love on any wall offering that unique look, and really it's own design. over at english muse's blog, she often showcases scenes taken with her polaroid and for some reason they seem nostalgic and are always super pleasing to my eyes.

the polaroid camera i have, i bought at a yard sale years ago, more for the look and design of it. i keep it displayed on a shelf in an antique cabinet i have. it has the bright blue plastic round cover over the flash bulb, so pretty really. they are pretty little machines. if you have a polaroid, do you use it or display it? would you use it if you could or are you more drawn to modern cameras and photos? i think a little of the old and new mixes together perfectly. enjoy!

I love the look of polaroids. Even better are Holga photos. I have an old Holga that uses the old 16mm film and I LOVE it. Check out some cool Holga images at this site:

I love, love, love my Polaroid and I'm hoarding my last batch of film. But they expire so I am going to have to use them pretty soon. It's going to be such a sad day when I shoot the last pic!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's so nice to find yours!

i adore this look of vintage polaroids! i was so happy when one of my photoblog readers/bloggers told about a photoshop action that you could go get to use to turn any photo into looking like it was taken with a polaroid. i was all over that in a flash {hehe—no pun intended}.

i use it quite often now. i'm sure you've seen the polaroid work of alicia bock? it's so incredibly dreamy and beautiful. no one can reach her talent, in my opinion. she never has anything short of amazing to me.

oh, and i forgot to answer your question. my family used to own one. many of my favorite photos growing up were taken with it. i wish we still had it, but it would likely not work even if we did. but even still, like you said, it would be neat just for display only.

when i was at the flea market a few week ago, i saw so many vintage cameras from so many different decades. i wanted them all! they somehow are works of art when they become old. i wonder if someone will ever want to put my canon powershot on their fireplace mantel or book shelf as decor. it's funny to think that, but really that is what we do with the cameras of yesteryear. {did i really just use that word? oh, my! i'm old.} :)
