this shade in particular, part of the gia light, is made of cast aluminum, it is built to diffuse the light downward, preventing glare, but providing beautiful lighting.

the name gia is short for alberto giacometti, the swiss sculptor living from 1901-1966. these shades also remind me of drums, rock and roll drums, of concerts, of beautiful sounds. just saying...enjoy!
