singing porcelain.

i wouldn't normally be drawn to little porcelain fixtures with eyes on them, but for some reason these keep making me smile...
(via)

dripping in thick glazes, & fixed with raw cork, these hand-cast porcelain "sing" vessels offered up by arhoj are just so super sweet. i think it's because arhoj got the eyes and the expression of them just so perfectly right. enjoy!

you, me...

anthropologie is offering up some really fun nautical rugs...i want them all!
i especially love the palenque rug, evocative of european cascading landscapes leading straight down toward the ocean. dreamy! enjoy...

monday & mater.

happy monday morning friends! i'm loving this line today. mater is a company based in denmark and stands its ground on providing product built from and in sustainable and ethical ways...
these were just a few of my favorites. that cork pendant, the bowl table, the acorn shaped pendant and the shell chair. all rich in natural tones, natural materials and easy on the eyes.

the word mater is latin for "mother". you can read more about how mater produces amazing design and product while treating mother earth in sensitive ways, here. just plain cool. enjoy!

have a relaxing weekend!

have a super duper relaxing weekend friends...
(source: i forget!)

i know it's summer, and i should have a different kind of energy building. but between work and schoolwork...i'm dragging a bit. ok, alot. i was at a meeting the other night and almost fainted (no really i almost did). so...my plans for this weekend include early to bed evenings, wrapping up in my favorite super soft cashmere blend throw and sipping red wine. i'm doing everything sloooooooowly this weekend. i need to build my summer energy back up!

i hope that you are in a far better energy place. i hope that you are feeling happy, relaxed and full of summer. i will, i'm getting there! enjoy...

rose colored.

happy friday friends! i'm lately loving rose tones...
(1,2,3,4,5)

so soft and rich at the same time. sexy and flirty, fun, and just fantastic for a friday! enjoy...

would you?

so this is wallpaper. and though the designs are pretty abstract, loud, and full, full of color, of line & absolutely chock full of design (certainly interesting on the eyes), would you put one on your wall?
you'd be daring. and i'd like. but seriously, could you? and where would you? i have enjoyed looking through this line today, which is offered up by wallunica, i'm not sure yet where, residentially or commercially i'd place one of these designs (maybe a swanky cocktail lounge or bar area?). they would be fun indeed...but maybe for like, one day. so we'll enjoy them today, just for fun!...

studio besau-marguerre.

this afternoon, i'm loving the rainbow fade on these stools for artek and created by studio besau-marguerre...
they're just perfect really. enjoy!

texty things.

i'm a lover of fonts. text is powerful. it is artistic & sculptural at times...
these are some recent favorite texty things. and for some reason after compiling them, they evoke an attitude. i'm not feeling particularly bad ass today, but you'd never know it from this selection. oh well, i like them anyway! enjoy!

p.s. find links to them all on my pinterest, here.

antje pugnat.

if i could dress up in anything today, it would be in anything & everything designed and created by antje pugnat...
"sophisticated knitwear with unmistakable and poetic sensibility." that's how antje describes her lines. she was born in hamburg and studied clothing technology. then earned her master's degree in fashion design knitwear. antje's line appears experimental, it tests boundaries within fashion, it tests the boundaries of materials, what they can do, how they can lay on the human body. i love that.

these are some favorites of mine from antje's "volupia" line. check out this and other lines by antje, here. enjoy!

hand series.

this is a sweet series...
this gently drawn "hand series" by new york artist loretta mae hirsch. i love the quiet nature of the artwork & the fine lines embracing flowers and red sequins. loretta utilizes ink, markers, pencil and collage on paper for this series. another artist's work i could live with in my home. enjoy!

smokin...

how super cool are these "smokin hot" gold studs for summer?
they're offered up by kate spade, here...if you're interested, or if you happen to be smokin hot! enjoy...

cool outdoor stuff.

if you are in the market to furnish your residential or commercial outdoor spaces and places, if you want to do your outdoors differently, unopiu has some very cool outdoor pieces...

i really like this company, there are tons of unique outdoor lighting options that can really set a mood. unopiu also offers up tons of texture options for seating, sun lounges and tables. woven fabrics, metal accents, and in all shapes and sizes.

in designing outdoor spaces, the one thing i really enjoy is to incorporate the natural textures and tones of the outdoors that you are enjoying. pairing woven bases with luxurious and comfortable cushions and fabrics. sturdy metals emulating the natural shapes of branches, trees, flowers.

i have a tiny deck that i'm completely enjoying this summer. if i had the luxury of more space, product like what unopiu offers would be on my list for sure. how was your weekend friends? did you get outdoors? ooooooh i did, yeah for summer! enjoy...
