the cools & 2 gently used pieces.

this columbus chair and cordemeijer day bed showcased on the cools are two of my new favorite wants...
the columbus chair was designed by hartmut lohmeyer in 1955 for the dutch furniture company artifort. the daybed is designed by dutch furniture designer a.r. cordemeijer.

i really enjoy incorporating vintage or antique pieces into spaces, whether they be residential or commercial spaces. and not only to offset everything being new and showroom-y but to offer in a piece with a little bit of history, i swear a little bit of history sticks to things. and that's not a bad thing. right? enjoy!

heist dresses.

i had to narrow it down to dresses. i discovered heist. and i discovered that i want everything that they offer. all of it...
but the dresses called to me the most, though everything else was a close second! for spring and summer, from casual to cocktail party ready, these were some of my favorites. like i said, i had to narrow it down! enjoy...

blurred...

this morning, i'm finding the blurred images of jennis li cheng tien dreamy and provocative...
i first saw these on let it be's blog. she described them as bringing her a moment of peace. & that "it's nice not to feel a need to bring things into focus." i agree.

and don't get me wrong. i enjoy, at times the crispness and clarity of photographs, so that the detail is the point. with these, the lack of detail is the point. and i love that! enjoy...

the colors of studio besau-marguerre.

this afternoon, i'm drawn to all of the smeared colors coming out of studio besau-marguerre...
german artists eva marguerre & marcel besau are studio besau-marguerre. together they combine tons of experimentation with color and materials, and their designs appear to evolve out of each. this studio is one i'd love to walk into today. enjoy!

building fundamental furniture.

building is the name of the company. they are based in japan. and in a woodworking shop near tokyo, they build, by hand, fundamental furniture...

the clean lines, the unfinished wood and how it was manipulated are the highlight of each piece, these in their own right are wow pieces. without the bells and whistles, without cutting edge this or new technology that. they are what they are, magnificent design. enjoy!

monday and in the flow...

mdf italia, is an milan based line of uber modern, well, lines...
it's mid-century modern meets the jetsons. it's innovation meets excitement. it's comfort meets impact. it's beautiful meets beautiful.

i, and i've said this many times, love companies, designers, architects and artists that push the boundaries. they tempt you with cutting edge everything. if you didn't have companies like mdf italia or designers like these in the world of interior options, it would just be plain boring. right?

have a great monday, a great start to a new week everyone! enjoy...

lily ashwell. i like this line...

a los angeles based designer, lily ashwell describes her line as embracing vintage silhouettes and designed to be timeless keepsakes...
i love that there is combination of comfortable meets flirty, of masculine paired with feminine, of vintage paired with an ever-so-slight modern flair. lily ashwell's spring 2014 line will be up on her site soon. and i can't wait. enjoy!

happy valentine's day friends! and happy friday too...

it's here! are you more excited for valentine's day or friday?

(via)
i just love the idea of both! what are your plans this friday, this weekend? i, again, am searching for quiet and more quiet this weekend after another busy week. my son will be home from college, so he'll be getting a valentine's treat (he pretends not to care but secretly looks forward to those kinds of treats). i on the other hand, might treat myself to a chocolate croissant. and eat the whole thing. enjoy!

p.s. for friday/valentine's day fun, a few fun things from around the web.

just a really pretty apple pie.

these tiny paintings captured my heart.

i laughed so hard at this post about a juice cleanse.

this way of wearing menswear in a super feminine way has me thinking about my spring fashion sense differently.

i'd like love to be laying here this weekend.

this dog saying no, is a freaking riot! (and do you see him looking at the camera in the beginning?)

and want to mount a staghorn fern on your wall?...this diy weekend project will show you how.

in pink & red.

in light of the approaching holiday, here are some things i like. in pink & red...
(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

might as well have fun with a holiday that celebrates these two colors individually & combined. enjoy!

in burgundy.

this color palette, this afternoon, is doing it for me...
(via)

maybe it's because valentine's day is tomorrow? it's a rich tone and a romantic and soft tone all at the same time, this all season burgundy. for make-up, fashion, maybe a lamp shade? or fabric idea for refurbishing a couch? this color, burgundy is appealing to me today. and probably tomorrow too...enjoy.

3 flexform sofas.

i could have posted more than 3 flexform sofas today, because there were more that i liked. but these are my 3 favorites...
flexform is an italian based company (with a very sexy website), though they have affiliates in new york and chicago, so not too worry. if you are in the market for classically influenced but with a modern twist sofas.

but in the end what i most love about these flexform sofas (and the rest of their product line) is that there is a reserved beauty about each piece, but with a sexy edge. they're a bit flirty, and i love that! enjoy...
