happy end to a long weekend friends! i wanted to share with you a new-to-me designer...
daniel duarte, a curious designer from portugal, who has designed some unusual furniture & his tables are my favorite...
his choice of wooden legs draw me in first, they are as present as the tops they support. they are spindly yet strong, they are long and short, and equally dramatic. the ways with which they connect to the rest of the design i think is what's most interesting.
daniels's use of line, of leaving the wood raw highlights the legs as much as it does the other mediums within the design.
i've said it before, new and up and coming designers are constantly taking what we conceive of as the typical or utilitarian pieces and designing them differently, with new twists and takes...designers keep us guessing, they keep us desiring the what's next...and i
