burned over.

amelia bauer's photographs have stopped my in my track this afternoon. her mysteriously lit forests, the light through the trees, or is it the trees through the light?
and i love even more this excerpt from amelia's statement page: "aesthetic traditions are repositioned to create spaces that exist somewhere between our fears of the uncultivated wild and our romanticism of the “virgin” landscape." wow.

she goes on in her statement on line to say that her photographs are "a distinctly american endeavor to bend nature to will yet also address the psychological and historical motivation underlying such efforts." amelia's work is certainly original, it's intense and powerful. her work is available as custom wallpaper murals in variable dimensions. can you imagine one of these lit forest scenes on a large wall of a decadent bar or nightclub? sensational...enjoy!
