ionna vautrin. from drawings to finished product.

french designer/artist ionna vautrin wows us with shape, color, sculptural, ethereal vessels and with light. such unique light. we often wonder how certain designers or artists conceive of their finished product, where did the idea come from, how did the design process flow toward a finished product? i really enjoy how ionna shares her initial sketches with us, all the way to her completed work. not only fun, but fabulous...

most of all i really enjoy ionna's use of color, how opaque or see through it is. where she places color and how it affects not only the piece, but in the example of her vessels/vases, how it affects what is placed inside of it, and vice versa. take a minute to visit ionna vautrin's site, it's pretty and pretty neat too!

how is this mid~week wednesday starting off for you? the sun is trying to stay out amongst stormy clouds (it rained last night, great for sleeping though). i have class later so i'll be heading into boston. i'll probably be tempted to pick up treats here, at one of my favorite bakeries for tomorrow morning. yes, i'm already looking forward to that. ;) enjoy your day friends!
