i love all of the "looming lighting" i'm seeing in spaces these days, whether residential or commercial. what i mean by "looming" is the fact that designers are heading off of the lighting map or deviating from the rules when it comes to hanging lighting. it's a bit off, or it's way off, hanging slightly off center, extra low, non conventional. and you know what? if we as designers are going to truly design, do something new, which can sometimes be hard to do, you have to do it differently. even if just by a hair!

what are your thoughts regarding this new phase of designing with looming lighting. i really like it. i love that it tests the space boundaries. it also is the first thing to throw off the space conceptually. allowing you immediately in, to view the space, to take it in and to think...huh? now that's different! :) yeah that's right. enjoy!
