have a terrific weekend!

we are one weekend closer to summer, yeah!

i've just changed out some of my fall/winter clothes for pink jackets and summer shoes. i'm praying that i can successfully put away sweaters and winter layers for the season, soon! i hope that you've had an amazing week full of inspiration, productivity and happiness. and if your week was not all that you thought it was, remember next week is a brand new start!

it's friday and here are some fun finds from around the world wide web:

LOVED this book, and the movie trailer is AWESOME.

now that's a treehouse!

a pretty yarn dyed lumbar pillow (from target!).

fun felt letterboard signs

that's all folks, print.

artist shawn huckins paints each piece by hand including the lettering. pretty cool.

whoa, so does this.

cool mirror mobile half moons.

a curious e-shop (those clutches!).

she collected vintage mexican serape blankets on etsy until she had enough to reupholster these chairs. stunning.

how pretty is this ribbon choker in ivory?

a perfect summer dress (i love it in deep teal!)

these look delish!

pretty palm springs doors.

color/pattern inspiration

finding inspiration in bright & bold painterly pinks today...
just saying...enjoy!

using nuances in fabric

using color "nuances" of the fabric for these oh so fun "layer" sofas from the portuguese furniture design label branca lisboa, a light graduation effect of color happens, from darker (the outer layer) to lighter (to the interior side)...
and branca lisboa states that with its use of exceptional materials (and you can read more about them here too) and the strength with which they build each piece "the layer sofa aims to be the greatest quality product from branca-lisboa."

oh, and plus they are just super fun right?

tom skeehan & his hoshi line

i've fallen in complete furniture love with this hoshi line by australian furniture designer tom skeehan...

SKEEHAN DESIGN / PROCESS from Sixth Row on Vimeo.

i stumbled upon tom's company & line and learned more about him, his technique and inspiration via the design publication yellowtrace (you can read their well written story about tom here).

and as you saw in the video above, tom draws stimulation and influence from the japanese aesthetic, culture and design. tom understood the japanese understanding and appreciation of materials used in their design and took away that he too wanted to design products that had "quite alot of purpose and meaning."

whether you order and purchase a piece from tom's hoshi line or any of his other pieces, these are pieces you purchase that are lasting, these are pieces that are timeless, that are handed down, generation to generation. they are loved and appreciated. they are coveted and special. they have meaning. enjoy!
