iko iko

los angeles based iko iko features works by a number of select artists and designers. fine art jewelry maker hannah keefe's earrings are what stopped me today...
concentrating in imaginative chain creations, each piece is alluring, feminine & rather sculptural. i want them all. enjoy!

leif love

i've always loved the brooklyn based company leif, but today, i'm sharing a few new coveted items...
love, love LOVE this mineral magnet set
this ziggy pillow
this infinite triangles leather pouch
these baltic birch coasters
this blanket with its neon orange stripe

these all make such great gifts, or gifts to yourself! right? enjoy...

koromiko.

koromiko is tracey george, a new zealander now living in dallas texas, but it's also so much more, and from even more designers. she and koromiko "promote independent designers producing hand-crafted goods". these are a few of my current favorites...
it seems that everything koromiko features is clean lined, all so easy on the eyes. sometimes that's the best kind of design, don't you think? enjoy!

jungalow love

artist, designer, & author (and owner of a fabulous blog) justina blakeney has begun a line of wallpaper that is shaking things up a bit. and i love that...
chock full of line, pattern, design & a little bit of funk, justina's wallpaper is pure fun. if you are in the market for out of the ordinary wall treatments, her line is represented by hygge & west, here.

justina has a knack for pairing, layering and layering some more, pattern and texture, without it appearing overwhelming or busy or wrong in some way. her design style is warm, rich and earthy. there is a free spirited nature to her, her spaces, her product line. and i'll say it again, i love that. enjoy!

p.s. here more from justina here.

i love this site, covet & lou, for it's vintage selection (um, those brass claw feet wall hooks?!) and their odds and ends of goodness...
and i swear, that "wild thing" necklace is for kids, but i secretly want it. ;) enjoy!

a mano.

louisa podlich, a photographer from minnesota created a mano (meaning, by hand) and features the creations of a collaborative of artists. today, i'm particularly drawn to these sweet & abstract painted natural wood circles...
super reasonably priced, these would make for great gifts/favors/place settings at a fun outdoor gathering. just saying...enjoy!

design crush: the safari chair.

you know how you just become fixated on a particular style of furniture all of the sudden? for me lately it's the classic safari chair. i'm seeing them in a number of materials but leather is by far my favorite. here are a few current favorites i am currently watching...
kaare klint safari chairs with patinated leather (1st dibs)
vintage saltman safari chair in black leather (chairish)
fun, red, arkana safari chairs by maurice burke (chairish)
a cognac leather vintage pair from south america (chairish)
mid-century arne norell safari chairs in light green olive leather (1st dibs)
1933 kaare klint safari chairs in leather and elm (1st dibs)
erik worts rosewood safari chair in rosewood and brown canvas (chairish)

1st dibs and chairish are two primary sources (with prices ranges all over the place)  if you want to bid or make and offer or just keep and eagle eye on a particular piece for a while and see if it comes down in price. of course you take the chance of it also being sold, but hey, that's the game right?

what about you? do you like the look of the safari chair? i happen to really enjoy them paired together in a seating arrangement, side by side. there is something even more special about two! enjoy!
