designing in floral mode.

with june upon us and the heat of summer around the corner, blossoms are bursting, colors are emerging and i'm loving the options out there and ideas for decorating with florals. here is a small monday morning round~up of some of my favs...

one obvious way to design with florals is to, well, add flowers to your environment, whether a residential or commercial space. and also let me say that i think every environment must have real flowers. that said, dont' forget that the vessels holding your floral beauties can be done in a different way. think outside the typical vase for a distinct, dramatic effect. such as this "paper white" vessel, designed by bradley l. bowers and found via design milk.

simply changing out a lampshde from stuffy to vibrant florals can transform a work/desk area in such a simple yet cheery way. via bolig.

the fabric line baumann offers from bed linens to window treatments, such as the dappled sunlight of fields of flowers below (which would be amazing commercially in a very cool hotel lobby or bar area and for privacy) have you surrounded with floral senses.

i've always loved tord boontje, and now his fabrics have me swooning with delight. imagine accompanying exquisite long windows or french doors, flowing floral fabrics not only in tord's color palette but with his whimsical floral designs fluttering about. love. offered via kvadrat.

this wonderfully bright, crotchet rug, designed by patricia urquiola and eliana gerotto for paola lenti is stunning, in an entry way, hallway, or alongside a bed, i want one in every room!

simple colored shades, clumped together in flower form as this flowers chandelier designed by mirjam huttner portrays. wowzers.

the addition of one piece, a smaller chair or larger couch, in floral mode, draws the eye, breaks up the room, offers life, vibrancy and a touch of excitement. via bolaget.

how fresh and fancy are these wall treatments offered from hornschuch? so fresh, that's what!

so there you have it. happy monday morning friends. i hope this beginning of a fresh new week finds you rested, inspired, creative and energetic to get going! i know i am. lots on my plate this week, from a graduation party on the beach for my son (he just graduated high school!), to getting ready for a summer course to begin, to working in my yard (which needs tending to), but all fun and all exciting. what are your plans for the week? anything exciting going on with you? enjoy...

p.s. here is the proud mom (me) and the recent high school graduate (my son, ethan) this past weekend! ;)
