ashes and milk.

"yoran morvant's pierres graphiques are designed to fit the geography of the stone. each line is carefully drafted by hand, forming sequences of layered patterns. perfect for enhancing the topography of your home. display just one or create an ensemble of stones."

"through relief printing and a laborious rubbing technique bryan nash gill created the print hemlock 82. at the grand size of 52" long x 38.5" wide the actual diameter, texture and pattern of this tree section is gorgeously translated onto paper. ink is rolled out and a piece of handcrafted washi paper is placed over the print block. pressing little by little with his fingertips, bryan imprints the texture of the wood on the surface of the paper. bryan created the hemlock 82 exclusively for ashes & milk as a limited edition of 12."

"french artist claire redor hand-sculpts bird forms out of clay and finishes them in soft earthy hues. smooth, undulating silhouettes are ergonomically pleasant to the touch - melting in the hands like chocolate delights."

"claire exhibits her work in boutiques throughout the france, japan and now the united states. she created the oiseaux de la france collection especially for ashes & milk."

"helen beard created this apricot belly chickadee piece especially for ashes & milk as part of the bird cup collection. refined and yet playful at the same time, these are a perfect addition to your own aviary."

sometimes i'll let a beautiful new site i've found, speak for itself, so:

"ashes & milk is an online gallery space founded on the principle that a lot can be created from very little. we are driven by modern ideas with a reverence for traditional methods and believe that the things we bring into our homes should have a soul and a sense of history.

our collection is a boutique of texture, organic materials, and nuances of white, brown, and gray. each piece is made by hand - an original work of art. created by one person, designed for one person.

ashes & milk is honored to present our patrons with a very fine selection of artists and their work. we love the artists we represent: for they observe the world in amazing detail and respond by constructing the most unexpected, beautiful things."

me again: truly unusual, inventive and talented is ashes and milk. any of their artists pieces would lend themselves not only to any residential but commercial space. enjoy!
